Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate (AKG)

AKG is the combination of the amino acid arginine and alpha-ketoglutaric salt Alpha-ketoglutarate, in addition to all the benefits associated with arginine metabolism, also allows for an increased capacity for nitric oxide (NO) synthesis, thus having a positive effect on tissue oxygenation and capillary perfusion and vascular health. This is due to the ease with which this amino acid is converted into nitric oxide (NO) within the body. Nitric oxide promotes the relaxation and dilation (increase in diameter) of blood vessels, consequently increasing blood flow both within the vessels themselves and to muscle fibers. A greater blood flow translates into a greater supply of glucose, amino acids, fats, and oxygen to cells and optimizes energy production.
