Xindex offers complete and targeted protection for your dogs and puppies, effectively combating roundworms and tapeworms.
Xindex is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic, formulated to effectively combat mixed roundworms and tapeworms infestations that can affect dogs and puppies. Its targeted action ensures optimal well-being for your four-legged friends.
Its composition includes active ingredients such as Pyrantel (in the form of Pyrantel embonate), Praziquantel, and Febantel, expertly balanced to maximize effectiveness. The excipients, including cetyl palmitate, pregelatinized starch, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, and a pleasant artificial beef flavor, have been selected for ease of administration.
Xindex is indicated for the treatment of a wide range of parasites, including:
Although Xindex is generally well tolerated, in rare cases mild and transient gastrointestinal disturbances, such as vomiting, may occur. It is contraindicated in animals with known hypersensitivity to any of the active substances or excipients.
The medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions. It is important to keep in mind that parasite resistance to anthelmintics can develop with repeated use. Furthermore, fleas are common intermediate hosts for the tapeworm Dipylidium caninum; effective control of intermediate hosts is crucial to prevent reinfestations. Tapeworm infestation is less likely in puppies under six weeks of age.
Xindex is specifically intended for dogs. Caution is advised when used concomitantly with piperazines or other cholinergic compounds due to potential interactions. Plasma concentrations of praziquantel may be affected by drugs that increase the activity of cytochrome P-450 enzymes.
This veterinary medicinal product is not available on prescription. Regarding pregnancy, although teratogenic effects have been observed in other species at high doses of febantel, no specific studies have been conducted in dogs during early pregnancy. Use during pregnancy should be carefully evaluated based on the risk/benefit ratio.
Each chewable tablet contains: Pyrantel 50.0 mg (corresponding to pyrantel embonate 144.0 mg), praziquante 50.0 mg, febantel 150 mg.
Excipients: Cetyl palmitate, Pregelatinized starch, Sodium starch glycolate (type A), Colloidal anhydrous silica, Magnesium stearate, Artificial beef flavor.
Xindex is formulated for simple and effective oral use. Administration is intuitive: the tablet can be swallowed immediately. It can be offered directly to the dog or easily crushed and mixed into food. Thanks to the lipid coating and added flavorings, most dogs consume it spontaneously, without the need for pre- or post-treatment fasting.
The recommended dosage is 1 tablet per 10 kg of the dog's body weight, corresponding to 15 mg of febantel, 5 mg of pyrantel (embonate), and 5 mg of praziquantel per kg. For dogs weighing more than 30 kg, the use of Veloxa Forte is recommended. Generally, a single dose is sufficient to complete the treatment.
To store half tablets, place them in the designated space on the blister and inside the box, in a safe place out of the reach of children.
It is recommended to wash your hands thoroughly after administering the product. In case of accidental ingestion by humans, seek medical attention immediately. The combination of active ingredients is well tolerated in dogs; however, doses five times or more than the recommended dose have occasionally caused vomiting.
During pregnancy, the use of Xindex is not recommended in the first four weeks. In pregnant dogs, it is essential not to exceed the recommended dosage. The tablets can be used safely during lactation.
