Active ingredients
D-Mannose: a monosaccharide extracted from the bark of hardwood trees, it acts as a prebiotic, promoting the establishment of beneficial intestinal flora in the prevention of cystitis, since it contains D-Mannose. Most cases of cystitis occur due to intestinal dysbiosis. It is eliminated through the kidneys, reaching high concentrations in the urinary tract, where it exerts its adhesive effects on the bacteria present: D-mannose can attract bacteria, preventing them from attaching to the visceral wall and promoting their expulsion through urine. The bacteria's adhesive capacity to mannose is greater than their ability to adhere to the bladder, therefore D-mannose will be able to detach even bacteria already anchored to the mucosa and attract those that have penetrated deeper.
N-Acetyl-Glucosamine: precursor of chondroitin sulfate and keratin sulfate, which make up the Gag layer that defines and protects the bladder urothelium. This layer, if strong and resistant, prevents bacteria from adhering to urothelial cells.
