Antiparasitic treatment for large dogs (20-40 kg)
Frontline Spot-on is useful for the treatment and prevention of tick (Rhipicephalus spp., Dermacentor spp., Ixodes spp.), flea (Ctenocephalides spp.) and lice infestations in adult dogs and puppies.
Bathing, rain, shampooing do not interfere with the duration of the product's activity against ectoparasites.
Fipronil
Butylhydroxyanisole, Butylhydroxytoluene, Excipients
A single-dose pipette of 2.68 ml for dogs weighing 20 to 40 kg, corresponding to the minimum recommended dose of 6.7 mg/kg of fipronil.
A single application of the product protects the animal from new infestations by ticks, fleas and lice, in detail:
For correct ectoparasite prevention, it is advisable to carry out monthly treatments during the most seasonal periods
Directions for use
Fipronil diffuses into the epidermis, concentrating in the sebaceous glands of the hair follicles, in the following 24 hours upon application.
It is important that the product is applied to an area where the animal cannot lick itself and to ensure that animals do not lick each other after treatment.
Avoid contact with the animal's eyes. In case of accidental contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
Do not apply the product to wounds or broken skin.
It is recommended to avoid immersion in water or bathing for 2 days after applying the product and bathing more frequently than once a week, as there is no data available to demonstrate how this affects the product's activity. Emollient shampoos can be used before treatment, but if used weekly after applying the product, they reduce the duration of flea protection to approximately 5 weeks. Weekly bathing with medicated shampoo containing 2% chlorhexidine did not reduce the product's effectiveness against fleas during a 6-week study.
Dogs should not be allowed to swim in bodies of water for 2 days after application of the product.
If the dog has been treated prior to exposure to ticks, they will be eliminated within 24–48 hours after attachment, i.e., before the dog finishes eating, reducing but not eliminating the risk of disease transmission. Once dead, ticks will fall off the animal; any remaining ticks can be easily removed by gently pulling them off.
Fleas on animals often infest the animal's bedding, bedding, and living areas, particularly carpets, curtains, and soft furnishings; In case of massive infestations and at the beginning of antiparasitic treatment, these can be treated with a specific insecticide and cleaned regularly with a vacuum cleaner.
For optimal control of flea infestations, it is advisable to treat all animals living in the same household.
In the absence of data, do not use the product on puppies under 8 weeks of age.
Do not use on sick animals (systemic diseases, fever...) or convalescent animals.
Do not use on rabbits as potentially fatal adverse reactions may occur.
This product is intended for dogs only. Do not use on cats to avoid overdose.
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any of the excipients.
If animals lick each other, this may cause serious eye damage. Transient hypersalivation may be observed, mainly due to the excipients of the product.
Among the extremely rare suspected adverse reactions, transient skin reactions at the application site (skin discoloration, local alopecia, itching, erythema) and widespread itching or alopecia after application have been described.
Exceptionally, hypersalivation, reversible neurological symptoms (hyperesthesia, depression, nervous symptoms), vomiting or respiratory symptoms have been observed.
If serious adverse reactions or other reactions not mentioned in this external label/package leaflet occur, please inform your veterinarian.
In safety studies, no side effects were observed in 8-week-old puppies, growing dogs and dogs weighing approximately 2 kg, treated once at doses five times higher than the recommended dose. The risk of adverse reactions (see Adverse Reactions section) may increase in case of overdose, so animals should always be treated with the pipette of the size corresponding to their body weight.
Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Frontline Spot on dogs can be used during pregnancy and lactation.
