Pralen Maxi from Teknofarma offers an effective and palatable solution for the treatment of roundworm and tapeworm infestations in dogs, ensuring well-being and protection.
Pralen Maxi stands out as a leading veterinary antiparasitic, specifically formulated to combat a broad spectrum of infestations. Its effectiveness is guaranteed by the synergy of active ingredients targeted against trematodes, roundworms, and tapeworms, offering complete protection.
Each tablet is expertly formulated with micronized mebendazole (480 mg) and microencapsulated praziquantel (40 mg), the active ingredients essential for its efficacy. The mixture of excipients includes icing sugar, rice starch, fish meal, maltodextrin, lactose monohydrate, diastasate maize meal, chicken meat meal, magnesium stearate, sodium chloride, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, cellulose acetophthalate, talc and colorants (E 110, E 151), carefully selected to optimize assimilation and palatability.
This veterinary medicinal product is indicated for the treatment of parasitic infestations in dogs, targeting both nematodes (roundworms) and cestodes (flatworms). Its action is effective against a wide variety of parasites, including Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala, Strongyloides stercoralis, Trichuris vulpis, Taenia ovis, Taenia pisiformis, Taenia hydatigena, Taenia multiceps, Dipylidium caninum, Mesocestoides spp and Echinococcus spp., ensuring complete coverage.
It comes in tablets, easy to administer.
To preserve its integrity and effectiveness, Pralen Maxi does not require special storage conditions, but it is essential to keep it in its original container, tightly closed. Its validity is guaranteed for 5 years from the packaging date.
Specifically formulated for medium and large-breed dogs, Pralen Maxi is the ideal choice for the health of your four-legged friends.
This veterinary medicine is available without a prescription, making it easily accessible for your pet's care.
Pralen Maxi is intended for oral use, ensuring simple and effective administration.
The recommended dosage is one tablet for every 16 kg of body weight, to be administered for two consecutive days. It is essential to always round the animal's weight up to the next whole number for an accurate dosage. The tablets are divisible into four parts, each suitable for treating 4 kg of weight, making it easy to adapt to different sizes. Thanks to their palatability and chewable nature, they are usually taken spontaneously. Otherwise, they can be crumbled and mixed with a small amount of preferred food. It is important to note that during treatment, the animal maintains its usual liveliness and appetite.
The use of Pralen Maxi is not recommended in case of known hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or to any excipients present in the formulation.
It is crucial to scrupulously adhere to the indicated dosage, as the administration of excessive doses can induce vomiting. Specifically, for Mebendazole, vomiting occurs above 500 mg/kg in dogs and 300 mg/kg in cats, while for Praziquantel, above 200 mg/kg in dogs.
For effective parasite control, it is recommended to base treatment on the results of a fecal parasitological examination. Frequent and repeated use of anthelmintics of the same class may favor the development of resistance. In case of Dipylidium caninum infestations, it is essential to adopt flea control measures to prevent reinfestations. During treatment, laxatives and fasting are not necessary; it is advisable to administer lighter meals than usual, preferably on an empty stomach or with a small amount of palatable food. To eliminate the larval forms of hookworms and roundworms, it is advisable to use a flea control program. It is necessary to repeat the complete treatment after 60 days for Ascarids and after 18 days for Hookworms, starting from the end of the first cycle. Elimination of parasites begins with the first administration, with the complete disappearance of eggs within 10-15 days of the last dose. It is therefore advisable to perform a stool test after this period. During and after treatment, especially in environments such as kennels or breeding farms, it is essential to perform disinfestation operations of the premises and chemical denaturation of the feces to interrupt the parasitic cycle and prevent new infestations. For those administering the product, in case of accidental contact, wash your hands thoroughly. People with hypersensitivity Patients with known active ingredients should handle the product with caution.
Currently, no interactions are known with other medicinal products or substances.
Although Pralen Maxi is generally well tolerated, in very rare cases mild and transient gastrointestinal disturbances, such as vomiting or diarrhea, may occur. Similarly, in exceptional circumstances, hepatotoxic adverse reactions have been reported. The frequency of these reactions is classified as very rare (less than 1 in 10,000 animals treated).
Although Mebendazole has not shown teratogenic or embryotoxic effects, as a precautionary measure, the use of Pralen Maxi is not recommended. Recommended during the first fifteen days of pregnancy.
