Cats are carnivores and, biologically, evolved to eat a diet rich in fish and meat. With their sharp teeth, single-jointed jaws, and short digestive tracts, cats are anatomically designed to break down protein and fat from meat. That's why Acana Pacifica contains 75% Pacific sardine, flounder, silver hake, and rockfish, all wild-caught off Vancouver Island and deemed fit for human consumption before being included in our foods. Completely free from potato and pea protein concentrates, Acana's high protein content comes from animal sources (not plants), which promote lean muscle mass and provide cats with all the nutrients they need.
We use fresh fish in its most nutritious and natural form. That's why 1/2 of the fish in Acana Pacifica is fresh and 1/2 is dried or oiled to provide a concentrated source of rich fish protein.

In her infinite wisdom, Mother Nature has ensured that whole animals contain all the nutrients needed to perfectly meet the nutritional needs of cats. Muscle meat contains protein and fat; organ meats provide vitamins and minerals; and bones and cartilage provide calcium and phosphorus. A cat's nutritional needs do not include carbohydrates, and their diet is low or nonexistent. Carbohydrates are known to be a major cause of obesity and diabetes; yet, conventional cat foods often contain over 50%. Acana is perfect for cats of all sizes. Just like you, your cat is unique, and their nutritional needs vary based on their environment, age, and activity. The table below provides a starting point that can be adjusted to your pet's specific needs. The recommended frequency is two meals per day, always leaving fresh, clean water available.
Use a standard 250 ml/120 g measuring cup. Serve dry or slightly moistened. We recommend regular visits to your veterinarian. To best maintain product freshness, we recommend tightly resealing the bag and storing it in a cool, dry place.
