Features
Otoclean contains substances with keratolytic, emollient, sanitizing, and hydrating properties, and can dissolve earwax. These substances give the product exceptional characteristics for the hygiene and care of the external auditory canal of dogs and cats, keeping it free from accumulations of dirt, earwax, and secretions.
Dosage
The frequency of use depends on the specific case. Prevention of ear infections: in breeds that, due to the anatomy of the external ear, are predisposed to contracting ear infections (cocker spaniels, setters, poodles, etc.), the use of OTOCLEAN® is recommended. at regular intervals.
To keep the external auditory canal in optimal condition, consistent use of the product once a week is recommended.
Animals with a heavy accumulation of dirt or earwax usually experience an unpleasant odor coming from the ear. In this case, OTOCLEAN® should be administered every 24 hours for 8 consecutive days in both ears; subsequently, depending on the effect achieved, the applications can be gradually reduced (every 2-3 days) until the ear canal is completely clean.
Adjuvant in the treatment of otitis: in animals affected by otitis, cleansing the ear canal is necessary to remove accumulations of dirt, earwax, or secretions, in order to improve the effectiveness of the therapeutic auricular products used against the infection. For this reason, washing both ears with OTOCLEAN® is recommended. 30 minutes before applying the medication.
Directions for use
- Open the bottle by twisting the plastic protective cap.
- Lift the animal's ear by holding it by the upper external end and pour the contents into the ear canal, squeezing the bottle with your fingers to irrigate, depending on the case, the entire contents of the bottle or only half.
- Massage the base of the ear for a few seconds, so that the cleaning solution comes into optimal contact with the ear.
Administer OTOCLEAN® in both ear canals of the dog or cat in sufficient quantities, proportional to the size of the animal:
- In large animals, one vial (5 ml) should be administered in each ear.
- In medium or small animals, the contents of one vial can be divided between the two ear canals.
Leave OTOCLEAN® to act inside the ear for at least 30 minutes, without administering other substances at the same time.
