Effitix Spot-On is an external antiparasitic for topical use, formulated with a synergistic combination of fipronil and permethrin. This powerful blend guarantees insecticidal, acaricidal, and repellent action against fleas, ticks, sandflies, and mosquitoes.
The product is effective in the treatment and prevention of flea and tick infestations, eliminating fleas within 24 hours and offering persistent protection for four weeks against new flea and tick infestations. It has also been shown to indirectly reduce the risk of transmission of Babesia canis canis, helping protect your dog from canine babesiosis.
The pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic properties ensure that the active ingredients are effectively distributed throughout the dog's coat within one day, maintaining detectable concentrations for at least 35 days, with minimal systemic absorption for permethrin.
Directions for use
The topical application of Effitix requires care: remove the pipette, tap it, break the tip, and apply the contents directly to the dog's exposed skin, along the back, in 2 or 4 places depending on its weight. The product is equipped with an anti-drip system.
The treatment must be repeated at least every 4 weeks, according to the veterinarian's advice. It is essential to weigh the animal accurately and not to use the product on dogs under 12 weeks of age or weighing less than 1.5 kg. It should be emphasized that the product is extremely toxic to cats; it is imperative to separate treated dogs from cats until the application site is dry and prevent any accidental licking.
For the user, it is crucial to avoid ingestion and contact with eyes and skin, washing hands thoroughly after use. It is recommended to treat the animal in the early evening and avoid contact with it for at least 12 hours. Furthermore, to protect the aquatic environment, do not allow the dog to bathe in watercourses for 2 days after application. In case of overdose, although safety has been demonstrated for high doses, it is advisable to immediately consult a doctor. It is essential to always use pipettes of the appropriate size for the dog's weight to minimize the risk of side effects. Use during pregnancy or lactation should be evaluated by your veterinarian.
