Kattovit Niere/Renal was specifically developed to support kidney function in chronic renal failure and reduce the formation of oxalate stones. This food provides cats with a reduced protein content, using high-quality proteins in an easily digestible composition, as high protein levels can have a damaging effect on the kidneys. The decisive factor is the protein content in relation to the amount of energy.
In contrast to conventional foods, Kattovit Niere/Renal provides only about half of its energy from protein. The addition of potassium citrate has an alkalizing effect on the urine and can therefore prevent the formation of oxalate crystals (oxalate prophylaxis). Additionally, phosphorus and sodium levels are reduced.
