Characteristics

Advantix Spot-on antiparasitic for dogs has a specific and effective action for the treatment and prevention of flea, lice and larvae infestations.

Each pipette of Advantix provides repellent activity against:

• Eliminates fleas (treatment and prevention); can be used as part of the treatment strategy for flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).
• Eliminates lice.
• Repels and eliminates ticks, reducing the risk of transmission of CVBDs (diseases such as borreliosis, rickettsiosis and ehrlichiosis).
• Repels mosquitoes and sandflies, reducing the risk of transmission of CVBDs (diseases such as leishmaniasis).
• Repels horseflies, helping to prevent fly bite dermatitis.

Composition

Active ingredients: 600mg imidacloprid, 3000mg permethrin.

How to use

The minimum recommended dose is 10 mg imidacloprid per kg body weight and 50 mg permethrin per kg body weight.
For dogs weighing >40 kg body weight, the appropriate combination of pipettes should be used.
To reduce reinfestation due to the appearance of new fleas, it is recommended to treat all animals in the household.
Other animals living in the same household should be treated with a suitable product. To further help reduce the environmental threat, the additional use of a suitable environmental treatment against adult fleas and their developing stages is recommended.
The product remains effective if the animal gets wet. However, intense and prolonged exposure to water should be avoided.
In case of frequent exposure, the persistence of efficacy may be reduced.
In such cases, do not repeat the treatment more frequently than once a week.
If shampooing is required for the dog, it is best to do so before applying the product or at least two weeks after in order to optimise its effectiveness.
In case of lice infestations, a further examination is recommended 30 days after treatment, as some animals may require a second treatment.
Apply only to intact skin.
Do not apply too much solution to any one spot, as this may cause some of the solution to run down the dog's flanks.

Warnings

Clear, yellowish to brownish spot-on solution.
For the treatment and prevention of flea infestations (C. canis, C. felis) and for the treatment of lice (Trichodectes canis) in dogs.
Fleas on dogs are killed within one day of treatment.
One treatment prevents further flea infestations for four weeks.
The product may be used for up to 1 year. be used as part of a treatment strategy for flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).
The product has persistent acaricidal and repellent activity against tick infestations (Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes ricinus for four weeks, and Dermacentor reticulatus for three weeks).
Ticks already present on the dog may not be killed within two days after treatment and may remain attached and visible.
It is therefore recommended to remove any ticks already present on the dog at the time of treatment to prevent them from attaching and taking a blood meal.
One treatment provides repellent (anti-feeding) activity against sandflies (Phlebotomus papatasi for two weeks and Phlebotomus perniciosus for three weeks), mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti for two weeks and Culex pipiens for four weeks), and horseflies (Stomoxys calcitrans) for four weeks.
