Characteristics

ACTASTIL IDROGEL is a product for ophthalmic use in dogs, cats, non-DPA horses, and pet rabbits. It consists of a sterile, isotonic saline solution with N-acetylcarnosine and carboxymethylcellulose, indicated for protecting, hydrating, and lubricating the ocular surface. Thanks to its mucoadhesive, viscoelastic, and hydrating properties similar to the tear film, it acts by forming a defensive barrier on the ocular surface with lubricating, antioxidant, and free radical-fighting properties, protecting and repairing the ocular tissues (crystalline lens, cornea, and conjunctiva) in the event of ocular discomfort, such as prolonged exposure to sunlight, wind, dust, smog, and oxidative stress due to environmental factors. The specific concentration of N-acetylcarnosine promotes the restoration of normal physiological conditions at the ocular level by counteracting the aggression of cellular lipid peroxidases. Carboxymethylcellulose gives the hydrogel rheological characteristics similar to those of tear fluid, including high adhesiveness and persistence, which allows it to act as a protective shield and lubrication of the ocular surface.

Composition

Purified water, Glycerin, N-acetylcarnosine, Carboxymethylcellulose 0.3%, Sodium chloride, Sodium tetraborate decahydrate, Disodium edetate, Potassium bicarbonate, Methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, Propyl p-hydroxybenzoate.

Directions for use

• Remove the safety ring by lifting the tab, remove the bottle cap and hold it between the thumb and forefinger of the dominant hand.
• Hold the animal's head still by containing the muzzle with the non-dominant hand.
• Position the dominant hand sideways above the animal's head so that you can gently pull the upper eyelid with the outer edge of your little finger to facilitate exposure of the eye.
• Place the bottle over the eye and instill 1-2 drops of the solution into the eye 2-3 times a day, applying light pressure to the body of the bottle.
• Reward the animal after application.
