Antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic treatment for irritations of the mouth, gums and throat; for gingivitis, stomatitis and pharyngitis. Also indicated before and after tooth extractions.
Tantum Verde mouthwash is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with analgesic properties, i.e. a
medicine that acts against pain and inflammation of the throat, mouth and gums.
Tantum Verde mouthwash also has disinfectant properties and a moderate surface anesthetic action.
Mouthwash: 100 ml contain: Benzidamine hydrochloride 0.15 g (equivalent to benzydamine 0.134 g) Cetylpyridinium chloride 0.05 g (equivalent to cetylpyridinium 0.0425 g).
Glycerol; Ethanol 96 percent; Saccharin; Polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil 40; Sodium bicarbonate; Mint flavoring; Quinoline yellow dye (E 104); Patent Blue V dye (E 131); Purified water.
Rinse with 15 ml of mouthwash, 2-3 times a day, using the appropriate measuring cup.
The product can be used, if necessary, at any time of the day.
Use for a maximum period of 5-7 days.
For longer use, consult a doctor.
The use, especially if prolonged, of topical preparations could give rise to sensitization phenomena. In this case, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor to establish appropriate therapy.
Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.
Hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.
No interactions of benzydamine and cetylpyridinium with other commonly used drugs have been observed.
However, it is advisable to avoid the simultaneous use of other antiseptics.
No side effects have been observed following the use of benzydamine topically, other than a slight sensation of numbness in the mouth, typically associated with its local anesthetic activity. With cetylpyridinium, intolerance phenomena may be observed in some cases, manifesting as mild and transient burning or local irritation that do not require modifications to treatment.
With the topical use of benzydamine and cetylpyridinium, overdose phenomena have never occurred.
The toxic manifestations of systemic benzydamine overdose consist of excitement, convulsions, sweating, ataxia, tremors, and vomiting.
Since there is no specific antidote, the treatment of acute benzydamine intoxication is purely symptomatic.
Symptoms resulting from the ingestion of significant quantities of quaternary ammonium compounds include nausea, vomiting, dyspnea, cyanosis, asphyxia, CNS depression, hypotension, and coma.
However, such toxic doses of cetylpyridinium chloride cannot be achieved even by ingesting more than 10 packs of the product.
Treatment of cetylpyridinium overdose is symptomatic.
There are no contraindications to the topical use of benzydamine and cetylpyridinium during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Store in the original container and outer packaging. Sensitive to light and moisture.
