Indications
Cholesterol is produced by the liver and is present in all cells of the body. In addition to the amount normally produced by the body, cholesterol can be introduced externally through food. Triglycerides are introduced primarily through food and partly derive from carbohydrate metabolism in the liver.
When present in excess, cholesterol and triglycerides can be harmful to the body, particularly to the health of the cardiovascular system. Therefore, it is important in these conditions to adopt a healthy lifestyle (e.g., physical activity, avoiding alcohol, nicotine, and stress) and a balanced diet.
ArmoLIPID PLUS is a dietary supplement containing Berberis aristata extract, fermented red rice (Monascus purpureus), policosanols, folic acid, coenzyme Q10, and astaxanthin-rich oleoresin derived from the algae Haematococcus pluvialis. Berberis aristata dry extract, contained in ArmoLIPID PLUS, promotes the control of cholesterol and plasma triglycerides as a complement to a diet generally suitable for this purpose.* Folic acid contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism.

Specifically, the action of this supplement is manifested through:
- red yeast rice, whose regular intake can counteract bad cholesterol;
- berberis aristata, which promotes the functionality of the cardiovascular system thanks to its useful effects in controlling cholesterol and plasma triglycerides;
- policosanol, a mixture of natural fatty alcohols contained in some plant waxes, which inhibits the synthesis of cholesterol;
- folic acid, useful for controlling blood levels of homocysteine, a substance that is converted into methionine in the body, which, if accumulated, can cause damage to the cardiovascular system;
- astaxanthin, a component that has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory functions;
- coenzyme Q10, a constituent of our body that participates in the redox reactions involved in ATP synthesis.

Directions for Use and Dosage
The recommended dose is 1 tablet per day, unless otherwise directed by your doctor, to be swallowed with a glass of water. Room temperature, before bed. If you have trouble swallowing the tablet, we recommend breaking it in half and always taking it with a glass of water.
How long should I take Armolipid Plus?
Generally, doctors and pharmacists recommend starting Armolipid Plus for at least 1 month, after which you should have your cholesterol levels checked to evaluate the effectiveness of the supplement. It is essential, however, to consult your doctor before starting treatment for high cholesterol.
Warnings
Each tablet contains 2.8 mg of Monacolins. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Do not take a daily amount of Monacolins from red yeast rice equal to or greater than 3 mg. Keep out of the sight and reach of children under 3 years of age. Armolipid Plus should not be taken by pregnant or breastfeeding women, infants, children, and adolescents under 18 years of age, or adults over 70 years of age. Consult your doctor before using this product. Armolipid Plus should not be taken if you are taking medications to lower cholesterol or if you are already taking other products containing red yeast rice. Consult a doctor about the use of this product if you have any health problems. Supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Read the package insert carefully.
Armolipid Plus and Statins
Armolipid Plus does not contain statins but is formulated using red yeast rice, which, in turn, contains Monacolin K, a natural statin that, if taken long-term, can cause side effects similar to those of synthetic statins. For this reason, the Armolipid Plus cholesterol supplement should not be taken concomitantly with other products containing statins.
Side Effects
The use of Armolipid Plus may have the following contraindications:
- Muscle pain, fatigue, and general tiredness, particularly in people who are intolerant to statins;
- Constipation, diarrhea, dyspepsia;
- Drowsiness and headache.
If these conditions occur, it is advisable to discontinue use and consult your doctor.
