Homegard Spray by Frontline is an aerosol spray for the indoor treatment of non-washable furniture and home textiles such as carpets, mats and armchairs that eliminates fleas effectively and for a long time. Fast-acting, dual-spectrum insecticide and acaricide, kills fleas, flea larvae, and ticks after application.

Directions for use

Application area(s):

Indoors. Targeted treatment of non-washable furniture and home textiles such as carpets, rugs, armchairs.

Application method(s): Nebulization.

After vacuuming the surface to be treated, the product should be sprayed from a distance of 30 cm. Spray for 1.3 seconds for approximately 1 m² (2.1 g/m²). The minimum time interval between two treatments is 6 months.

Instructions for use:

• The product is intended for the targeted treatment of non-washable furniture and home textiles such as carpets, mats and armchairs.
• Always read the label or package leaflet before use and follow all instructions provided.
• Respect the recommended application doses.
• Residual efficacy for up to 6 months which may be reduced in the case of normal cleaning (for example, vacuuming carpets) or intense use of surfaces (for example, walking, rubbing, etc.).
• In case of persistent infestation, alternate with products containing active substances that have a different mode of action, in order to avoid the onset of resistance. This eliminates resistant individuals from the population.
• If the infestation persists despite following the instructions on the label or package leaflet, contact a pest control professional.
• Do not use on cats or other animals or cat litter boxes.
• Inform the marketing authorisation holder if treatment is ineffective.

Warnings

Hazard statements:

Possible direct or indirect effects and first aid instructions:

• In case of inhalation: Remove the injured person to fresh air and keep him/her in a semi-sitting position. Seek medical attention immediately if symptoms appear and/or if large quantities of the product have been inhaled.
• In case of contact with eyes: Rinse eyes immediately with plenty of water, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Inspect for and remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing with warm water for at least 10 minutes. Consult a doctor if irritation or vision problems occur.
• In case of skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Rinse contaminated skin with water. Contact a Poison Control Center if symptoms develop.
• If in mouth: Rinse mouth with water. Contact a Poison Control Center immediately if symptoms develop and/or if large amounts of product come into contact with the mouth.
• Do not give liquids or induce vomiting if consciousness is impaired; place the victim in the recovery position and seek medical advice immediately.
• Keep the container or label available.
• Permethrin may be dangerous for cats. If you observe signs of poisoning, seek immediate medical attention and show the container to a veterinarian.
• Pyrethroids can cause paresthesia (burning and tingling of the skin without irritation). If symptoms persist: Consult a doctor.

Precautionary statements:

If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Permethrin may be dangerous for cats. If you notice any signs of poisoning, seek immediate medical attention and show the container to a veterinarian. Keep out of reach of children. Read and follow all instructions carefully. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames, and other ignition sources. No smoking. Do not spray on an open flame or other ignition source. Do not pierce or burn, even after use. Wash hands thoroughly after use. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Consult a doctor. Protect from sunlight. Store at temperatures not exceeding 40°C. Do not release to the environment. Collect spilled material. Dispose of the product in accordance with local regulations.

Risk mitigation measures:

• Do not use on wet and washable surfaces and textiles.
• Do not wash furniture with wet cloths and never wash carpets and mats with water to avoid discharge into the sewers.
• Remove all food products, animal feed and drinks before treatment.
• Do not use on surfaces or structures near or that may come into contact with food products, animal feed and drinks.
• Avoid contact with eyes.
• After spraying, do not stay in the rooms and leave to act for at least an hour before aerating.
• Remove or cover terrariums, aquariums and animal cages before treatment.
• Turn off the aquarium air filter while applying the product.
• Keep cats away from treated surfaces, due to their particular sensitivity to permethrin, the product can cause serious side effects in cats.
• Keep children and pets away during treatment.
