Introduced into the citrus collection of the Medici Gardens, it comes from the countryside of Pietrasanta (Lucca).
The Cedrato di Firenze is the most fragrant and sweet of all lemons “For its pleasant smell superior to all others”, The “Eccentricity”, or to be precise the Citrus Aurantium “Eccentricity” It is a so-called grafted chimera, a rarity, a unique and very particular citrus fruit that, despite having the characteristics of the bitter orange, appears, simultaneously in the same fruit, as three different species of citrus: bitter orange, lemon and citron.
Every year the Bizzarria bears different fruits, knobbly and yellow, orange or green in color.
The scent of the citron is reminiscent of legend, which tells ancient stories and refers to ancient spells and new loves.
Mythology tells that the young fishermen of the Mediterranean, to express their gratitude, offered the Sirens who had assisted them, a basket of citrons.
A legend reveals that the citron is the scent of purification, whose aroma transmits love.
It seems that it was enough to spray a few drops of its fragrance on the palm of one's hand and rub it lightly on the hand of the loved one, to ignite a real "spell" "amorous."

It has a sweetly citrusy, harmonious, lively, and pleasant scent. Its enveloping scent releases the joy of life and combats stress.
In the East, it was used to flavor drawers and perfume underwear.
