A non-prescription medicine that acts quickly against the first symptoms of a cold.
Zerinolflu effervescent tablets is an analgesic and antipyretic that acts against the symptoms of flu, such as a runny nose, chills, watery eyes and a general feeling of malaise, thanks to the active ingredients it contains, namely paracetamol, chlorphenamine maleate and sodium ascorbate (vitamin C).
Vitamin C, in particular, supports and strengthens the body's natural defenses.
One effervescent tablet of Zerino Flu contains:
Zerinolflu is a medicine for adults. Take 1 effervescent tablet, dissolved in half a glass of water, twice a day on a full stomach. If symptoms do not improve after 3 days of treatment, it is advisable to consult your doctor.
Administer with caution to patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency. During treatment with paracetamol, before taking any other medication, check that it does not contain the same active ingredient, to avoid adverse reactions. Instruct the patient to contact their doctor before combining any other medication. If symptoms are accompanied by high fever, rash, excessive mucus, and persistent cough, consult your doctor. Zerinolflu contains an antihistamine. At common therapeutic doses, antihistamines have side effects that vary greatly from person to person and from drug to drug. The most frequent side effect is sedation, which can manifest as drowsiness, which is why it is important to consult your doctor before taking any other medication. Those who drive motor vehicles or perform operations requiring complete vigilance must be warned. Particular attention must be paid when determining the dose in the elderly due to their greater sensitivity to the drug. High or prolonged doses of the product can cause high-risk liver disease and even serious kidney and blood alterations. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) should be used with caution by subjects who suffer, or have suffered in the past, from nephrolithiasis (kidney stones) and by those affected by G6PD (glucose-6-phosphate-dehydrogenase) deficiency, hemochromatosis, thalassemia, or sideroblastic anemia. Zerinolflu effervescent tablets contain aspartame, a source of phenylalanine; this may be due to the presence of phenylalanine in the blood. Patients with phenylketonuria (phenylalanine hydroxylase enzyme deficiency) should be taken into account due to the risk associated with the accumulation of the amino acid phenylalanine in these subjects.
Hypersensitivity to the active ingredients, to any of the excipients or other substances closely related from a chemical point of view; in particular to antihistamines with a similar chemical structure to chlorphenamine. The product is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Paracetamol-based products are contraindicated in patients with manifest glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency and in those suffering from severe haemolytic anaemia or severe hepatocellular insufficiency. Due to its anticholinergic effects, it should not be used in cases of glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, bladder neck obstruction, pyloric and duodenal stenosis, or stenosis of other parts of the gastrointestinal and urogenital tract.
Use with extreme caution during chronic treatment with drugs that can induce hepatic monooxygenases or in case of exposure to substances that can have this effect (for example, rifampicin, cimetidine, antiepileptics such as glutethimide, phenobarbital, carbamazepine). The administration of paracetamol may interfere with the determination of uric acid (using the phosphotungstic acid method) and blood glucose (using the glucose-oxidase-peroxidase method). Like all preparations containing antihistamines, Zerinolflu may mask the first signs of ototoxicity of certain antibiotics.
Zerinolflu may interact with alcohol, tricyclic antidepressants, neuroleptics, or other drugs that depress the nervous system and therefore should not be taken during therapy.
Zerinolflu should not be taken concomitantly with anticoagulants, metoclopramide, or other substances with anticholinergic action. The habitual use of anticonvulsant drugs or oral contraceptives may, through an enzyme induction mechanism, accelerate the metabolism of paracetamol. Use of the product is not recommended if the patient is being treated with anti-inflammatory drugs. The product is also contraindicated in patients being treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within two weeks of such treatment.
Skin reactions of various types and severity have been reported with the use of paracetamol, including cases of urticaria, erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and epidermal necrolysis. Hypersensitivity reactions such as angioedema, laryngeal edema, and anaphylactic shock have been reported. The following side effects have also been reported: thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, anemia, agranulocytosis, changes in liver function and hepatitis, changes in kidney function (acute renal failure, interstitial nephritis, hematuria, anuria), gastrointestinal reactions, and dizziness. Zerinolflu may cause allergic reactions. cause mainly drowsiness, asthenia, photosensitivity, dry mouth, urinary retention, increased viscosity of bronchial secretions.
