Product Description

Medical device useful for promoting cleansing of the nasal mucosa, preventing the accumulation of secretions and contamination processes, and hydrating irritated mucous membranes.

Indications

Xnaso by Levante is a saline solution with PEG 3350 and salts for nasal irrigation. Nasal washing promotes cleansing of the mucosa, facilitating the expulsion of excess mucous, pollen, crusts, and substances accumulated during the day that can compromise normal breathing. The expulsion of impurities and the ability to maintain a clean and hydrated mucosa make nasal washing a complementary treatment for alleviating the symptoms of upper respiratory tract diseases, facilitating the restoration of normal mucosal functions and hydration of the irritated mucosa. The solution can be used in combination with nasal irrigation. It can be used to wash the nasal cavities daily (isotonic solution) and in all cases of nasal congestion, such as that caused by colds, allergic rhinitis, acute and chronic sinusitis, exposure to smoke or irritants (hypertonic solution). It contains PEG 3350, an inert substance that is not absorbed by the mucosa and does not irritate the tissues. PEG is a humectant and exerts a hydrating action, thus helping to keep the irritated mucosa hydrated. The product is enriched with sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate, which are indicated for draining excess secretion from the nasal mucosa. In the case of hypertonic solutions, the salts also have a decongestant effect.

Composition

One sachet contains: PEG 3350, Sodium chloride, Sodium bicarbonate

Directions for use and Dosage

1. Fill the bottle with drinking water at a temperature of 35 - 40°C up to the 240 ml level line.
2. Hypertonic solution: dissolve the contents of two sachets in the bottle. Useful in cases of nasal congestion caused by upper respiratory tract conditions (e.g. colds, allergic rhinitis, acute and chronic sinusitis).
   Isotonic solution: dissolve the contents of one sachet in the bottle. Useful for preventing the buildup of secretions or for daily rinsing of the nasal passages; shake the bottle until the powder has completely dissolved in water.
3. Tilt your head sideways away from the treated nostril and slightly forward.
4. Insert the tip of the bottle into one nostril while breathing with your mouth open.
5. Apply light pressure to the base of the bottle. Wait for the solution to flow into your nose from the opposite nostril.
6. While rinsing, breathe through your mouth open.
7. After rinsing (half the bottle), remain for a few moments with your head tilted forward.
8. Repeat the same operation with the other nostril with the remaining half in the bottle.
9. Blow your nose gently.
10. After each use, fill the bottle with water and a few drops of liquid soap, shake vigorously for effective cleaning.
11. Dry the inside with a towel or let it air dry before the next use.

Isotonic solution: up to three times a day
Hypertonic solution: 1-2 times a day, depending on the severity of the symptoms.

Warnings

Do not use boiling water during treatment. Keep out of reach of children.
Nasal irrigation should only be performed by mixing drinking water with the contents of the Xnaso sachets. It is recommended to replace the bottle after 1 month of use to avoid the risk of contamination. In case of nasal congestion (cold, allergic rhinitis, acute and chronic sinusitis), if the symptoms worsen after 5 days or persist after 10 days, discontinue treatment with Xnaso hypertonic solution and consult a doctor. Do not use the device in case of known hypersensitivity to the components. Do not use Xnaso for more than 30 consecutive days. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.

Contraindications

Do not use in children under 3 years of age. Use the product in children between 3 and 6 years of age under medical advice. In children, use the product under the supervision of an adult. Consult a specialist before using Xnaso in case of complete nasal obstruction, ear infections, or if you have recently undergone surgery. Discontinue use of the product if you experience discomfort or pain in the nose or ear.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

There are no data on the administration of the Xnaso medical device during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Therefore, use is recommended only after consulting a doctor.

Storage

Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use the product after the expiry date printed on the package. Do not use the product if the sachet has been opened or damaged. Store at a temperature below 25°C.

Format

One pack contains 30 sachets of saline mixture enriched with PEG 3350. The 240 ml bottle is included in the pack and can be reused.
