Product Description

Nasal decongestant for local use, which clears a stuffy nose and promotes breathing.

Indications

Vicks Inhalant is indicated for colds and congestion of the nasal mucosa: it is used to clear a stuffy nose and promote breathing.

Composition

Active ingredients

Menthol 415.4 mg. Camphor 415.4 mg

Excipients

Pine essence, Methyl salicylate.

Directions for use and Dosage

Unscrew the cap and insert the tip of the nasal stick into one nostril, closing the other with a finger and inhaling deeply.

Repeat in each nostril several times a day. The duration of treatment should not exceed 3 days.

Warnings

Vicks Inhalant is contraindicated in children up to 30 months of age and is not recommended for use in children under 6 years of age.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity (allergy) to the active ingredients or to any of the excipients. It is advisable to consult your doctor if such disorders have occurred in the past. The product is contraindicated in children up to 30 months of age and in children with a history of epilepsy or febrile convulsions.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Vicks Inhalant can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. In general, no serious or severe side effects are expected with this product. Cases of nasal pain have been reported very rarely. Due to the presence of camphor and menthol, failure to follow the recommended doses may result in convulsions in children and infants. Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects. The use of topical products, especially if prolonged, may cause allergic reactions. In this case, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor. These side effects are generally transient.

Overdose

No clinically significant cases of overdose have been reported. Accidental oral ingestion or incorrect administration in infants and children may result in neurological disorders. If necessary, administer appropriate symptomatic treatment in specialized treatment centers. If you have any further questions about the use of Vicks Inhalant, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

• Pregnancy: Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine. There are no or limited data on the use of camphor and menthol in pregnant women. Vicks Inhalant is not recommended during pregnancy and in women of childbearing potential who are not using contraceptive measures.
• Breastfeeding: There is insufficient information on the excretion of camphor and menthol in breast milk. Vicks Inhalant should not be used during breastfeeding.
