Composition

ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Dextromethorphan hydrobromide 0.133% w/v

Excipients

Sucrose, Sodium saccharin, Propylene glycol, Alcohol (96%), Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, Sodium citrate dihydrate, Anhydrous citric acid, Honey flavoring (containing honey), Verbena flavoring, Sodium benzoate, Polyethylene oxide, Methoxypropanediol, Polyoxystearate 40, Purified water.

Therapeutic indications

Cough sedative.

Contraindications

Known hypersensitivity to dextromethorphan. Pre-existing severe liver function impairment. Do not use concurrently with or within two weeks of treatment with antidepressant drugs. Asthma.

Dosage

Adults and children over 12 years: 15 ml (equivalent to 3 teaspoons). Children 6 to 11 years: 5 ml (equivalent to 1 teaspoon). Children 2 to 5 years: 2.5 ml (equivalent to 1/2 teaspoon). These doses can be repeated every 6 hours, up to 4 times a day. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSES.

Warnings and precautions

Administer with caution in patients with liver disorders. Do not administer to children under two years of age unless advised by a doctor. The product contains sucrose; this should be taken into account in cases of diabetes or low-calorie diets. Alcohol consumption is not recommended during therapy. If no appreciable results are achieved after 5-7 days of treatment, consult your doctor. KEEP OUT OF THE REACH AND SIGHT OF CHILDREN.

Interactions

Do not administer during or within two weeks of taking monoamine oxidase inhibitor drugs.

Side effects

Excitement, mental confusion, gastrointestinal disturbances, drowsiness, and dizziness may occur.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

In case of pregnancy and breastfeeding, the preparation should be administered only if strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
