The Verify® Pregnancy Self Test is a rapid urine test that detects the presence of the hCG hormone to confirm a possible pregnancy.
Verify® Pregnancy Self Test is a urine test that detects the presence of the hCG hormone (human chorionic gonadotropin), produced by the body a few days after conception. The test measures whether hCG is present in the urine and in what quantity.
When to Do It?
After at least 1 day of missed menstrual period, for greater reliability. Some early tests allow detection up to 5 days before the missed period. The best time of day is in the morning, when the urine is most concentrated.
Advantages
High accuracy (> 99%) if done at the right time. Easy to use and discreet. Available in early, digital, and multipack versions.
Limitations
A false negative test is possible if: It is performed too early. The urine is too dilute. A positive test should be confirmed with a blood test and a gynecological examination. Some medications (e.g., fertility medications) may interfere.
Read the instructions carefully.
Urine directly on the test stick or collect urine in a clean cup.
Wait 1–5 minutes.
Read the result:
| Result | Meaning |
| 1 line: control | Negative (no pregnancy detected) |
| 2 lines: control + test | Positive (presence of hCG) |
| No line or only test line | Invalid test '†’ Repeat |
If you are unsure or have a negative test but have symptoms, repeat in 2-3 days.
Sample Collection and Preparation
The urine sample should be collected in a clean, dry container. A first-morning urine sample is preferable, as it generally contains the highest concentration of hCG; however, urine samples collected at any time of day can be used. Urine samples with visible particles should be centrifuged, filtered, or allowed to settle to obtain a clear sample for analysis.
If testing is not possible immediately, urine samples can be stored at 2-8°C for up to 48 hours before analysis. For extended storage, samples can be frozen and stored at temperatures below -20°C. Frozen samples must be thawed and mixed before testing.
Instructions
Allow the test and sample to reach room temperature (15-30°C) before testing.
Remove the test stick from the foil pouch and use it within one hour.
Remove the test stick from the cap. Hold the test stick by the handle, placing the absorbent end under the urine stream or immersing it (>2/3) in urine collected in a clean container for at least 15 seconds. Note: Do not urinate in the result window.
Cover the test with the cap and leave it on a clean, flat surface. Start the timer immediately.
Read the result after 3 minutes; do not interpret it after 10 minutes.
Reading the Results
Positive: Two colored lines form. One line should be in the control area (C) and the other line should be in the test area (T). One line may be lighter than the other; they do not have to be the same color. This indicates that you are probably pregnant. You are pregnant.
Negative: A colored line appears in the control region (C). No line appears in the test region (T). This indicates that you are probably not pregnant.
Invalid: The result is invalid if no colored line appears in the control region (C), even if a line appears in the test region (T). You must repeat the test with a new test.
Quality Control
A procedural control is included in the test. The colored line that appears in the control region (C) is considered an internal procedural control, confirming sufficient specimen volume, adequate capillary penetration, and adequate solubility. in the membrane and proper procedural technique.
