Interactions
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used, or might use any other medicines. You should be careful if you are being treated with any of the following medicines, as interactions have been reported in some patients:
- Possible interactions may occur with the systemic administration of tolbutamide, antacids.
- Diuretics, ACE inhibitors, and angiotensin II antagonists: NSAIDs may reduce the effect of drugs used to treat high blood pressure. In some patients with compromised renal function (dehydrated or elderly), concomitant use with ACE inhibitors or angiotensin II antagonists may lead to further deterioration of renal function.
- Cardiac glycosides (such as digoxin): NSAIDs may accentuate cardiac failure and increase the risk of glycoside toxicity.
- Anticoagulants (such as warfarin): NSAIDs may increase their effect.
- Acetylsalicylic acid, other NSAIDs, and selective COX-2 inhibitors: Concomitant administration is not recommended due to the potential for increased adverse effects.
- Antiplatelet agents and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors: Increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Cardiac salts lithium: NSAIDs may reduce lithium elimination, resulting in increased plasma levels and toxicity. Monitoring required.
- Methotrexate: NSAIDs may increase methotrexate levels.
- Cyclosporine: Increased risk of renal toxicity.
- Corticosteroids: Increased risk of gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding.
- Quinolone antibiotics: Increased risk of developing convulsions.
- Mifepristone: NSAIDs should not be taken for 8-12 days after administration as they may reduce their effect.
- Tacrolimus: Possible increased risk of renal toxicity.
- Zidovudine: Increased risk of haemorrhage toxicity; Increased risk of hemarthrosis and hematomas in HIV-infected hemophiliacs.
Warnings
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using TRANSACT Lat.
- The patch should be applied only to intact, unbroken skin; do not apply to skin wounds or open lesions. Remove the patch when bathing or showering.
- It should not come into contact with or be applied to mucous membranes or eyes.
- Do not use with occlusive dressings.
- Stop treatment if a skin rash appears.
- Gastrointestinal effects: Risk of bleeding, ulceration, or perforation of the stomach and intestines is higher at high doses and in patients with a history of peptic ulcers or in the elderly. Use the lowest effective dose. Use with caution if you have a history of ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, as treatment may aggravate these conditions. Discontinue treatment if you experience bleeding or a gastrointestinal ulcer.
- Effects on the heart, brain, and blood vessels: If you have a history of high blood pressure and/or heart failure, monitoring is necessary. The use of some NSAIDs (especially at high doses and for long-term treatment) may be associated with a modest increased risk of myocardial infarction or stroke. Flurbiprofen can block platelet aggregation and prolong bleeding time. Do not exceed the recommended dose and duration of treatment.
- Skin Effects: Serious skin reactions (exfoliative dermatitis, Steve-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis) have been reported very rarely. Discontinue treatment at the first sign of rash, oral lesions, or hypersensitivity.
- Respiratory Effects: Use with caution if you have a history of non-allergic asthma. Cases of bronchospasm have been reported.
- Liver Effects: Use with caution if you have liver problems. NSAIDs should be avoided in cases of severe liver disease.
- Renal Effects: Use with caution in patients with renal impairment. NSAIDs may cause renal failure.
- Effects on Fertility: Long-term use may reduce female fertility (reversible).
- Other Effects: Administer with caution in cases of dehydration. Increased risk of aseptic meningitis in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus and mixed connective tissue disease. Absorption through the skin makes it possible for general effects to occur (the risk depends on the exposed area, quantity, and time of exposure).
- Elderly: They have an increased frequency of adverse effects from NSAIDs, especially gastrointestinal bleeding and perforation, which can be very serious.
- Children: Use is not recommended in children.
Contraindications
