Drug for cutaneous use useful for the treatment of superficial skin infections
Streptosil Neomycin Powder is a medicine based on active ingredients, known for their antimicrobial properties: neomycin sulfate, an antibiotic, and sulfothiazole, an antibacterial. É particularly indicated in the treatment of bacterial skin infections (e.g. folliculitis, furunculosis, small infected wounds.)
10 g of powder contain: active ingredients: sulphatiazole 9.95 g, neomycin sulphate 0.05 g
Lift the colored cap, rhythmically and thoroughly press the two sides of the bottle, holding it horizontally or slightly obliquely; lightly sprinkle the affected area with the powder and cover with sterile gauze; reapply twice a day. It is recommended to sprinkle lightly, using the minimum amount of powder necessary to avoid the formation of crusts and allow rapid solubilization and diffusion of the components. Do not exceed the recommended doses.
Due to the potential risk of kidney and eye damage from neomycin, prolonged use or the use of large quantities of the product on areas of extensive ulcerated skin, such as skin infections secondary to extensive burns, trophic ulcers, and in all conditions where neomycin absorption is possible, should be avoided. The use, especially if prolonged, of topical products may give rise to sensitization phenomena. After a short period of treatment without appreciable results, consult your doctor. In early childhood, the product should be administered only in cases of real need, under the direct supervision of a doctor. KEEP THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT OUT OF THE REACH AND SIGHT OF CHILDREN.
Known or suspected hypersensitivity to sulfonamides and neomycin. Do not use in ear canal infections, nor in children with ear infections. near the eyes.
Local or systemic manifestations of hypersensitivity to the components of the product (redness, swelling, itching) are possible. Since these manifestations may worsen, it is necessary to interrupt treatment at their first appearance and consult a doctor for appropriate therapy. As with any chemotherapy, prolonged use may cause superinfections by resistant microorganisms, including fungi. If this occurs, treatment must be suspended and a doctor should be consulted.
No cases of overdose are known. Any toxic phenomena should be attributed to the sulphatiazole and neomycin components. In case of suspected overdose, seek medical advice immediately.
In pregnant women, the product should be administered only in cases of real need, under the direct supervision of a doctor.

Buona sera, è da quando ero adolescente che uso lo Streptosil con la neomicina per evitare che taglietti e piccole ferite possano infettarsi...anche per i miei figli anche se, purtroppo, il contenitore abbia subito la moda del calo del prodotto nel contenitore..."shrinkflation" tanto per eliminare l'italiano dal nostra realtà: neanche noi consumatori fossimo così stupidi da non rendercene conto.
