Self-test for the detection of alcohol in human saliva.
The Munus Medical Self-Test for Alcohol is a rapid, one-step screening test for the semi-quantitative detection of alcohol in human saliva. The alcohol test is a rapid and highly sensitive method for detecting alcohol in human saliva and providing an approximation of the relative concentration of alcohol in the blood. This test provides only a preliminary screening. To obtain a confirmed analytical result, it is necessary to use a more sophisticated alternative chemical method. specific.
Before testing, allow the test cassette, sample, and/or controls to reach room temperature (15-30°C).
Do not put anything in your mouth for 15 minutes before starting the test.
This includes soft drinks, tobacco products, coffee, mints, and food, etc.
Bring the pouch to room temperature before opening. Remove the test from the sealed pouch and use it within one hour.
Remove the collector from the sealed pouch and insert the sponge end of the collector into your mouth. Actively swab the inside of your mouth and tongue to collect saliva for a total of 3 minutes until the sponge is completely saturated. Gently pressing the sponge between your tongue and teeth will aid saturation. You should not feel any hard spots on the sponge when it is saturated.
Remove the collector from your mouth. Place the saturated saliva collector into the collection tube and press the sponge completely against the filter to collect the saliva. Discard the collector. Close the collection tube cap.
Place the test cassette on a clean, flat surface. Unscrew the cap from the collection tube. Invert the collection tube, transfer 3 drops of saliva (approximately 120 mcL) into the sample well of the test cassette and start the timer. Avoid trapping air bubbles in the sample well. Place the screw cap on the collection tube.
Read the results in 3-5 minutes.
Compare the color of the reaction pad and the standard color card to determine the relative blood alcohol concentration.
Positive: The alcohol test will produce a color change in the presence of salivary alcohol. The color will vary from light blue at a relative blood alcohol concentration of 0.20 g/L to a dark blue near a relative blood alcohol concentration of 1.50 g/L. Colored pads are provided within this range to allow an approximation of the relative blood alcohol concentration. The test can be used for both oral and oral alcohol tests. produce colors that appear to be between adjacent colored pads.
Negative: If the alcohol test shows no color change, this should be interpreted as a negative result, which indicates that no alcohol was detected.
Invalid: If the colored pad is blue before applying the saliva sample, do not use the test.
Note: The alcohol test is very sensitive to the presence of alcohol. A bluer color indicates a more severe alcohol problem. A clear colored swab reading of 0.20g/L should be interpreted as positive for the presence of alcohol in saliva but less than 0.20g/L relative blood alcohol content.
Before performing the test, read the entire package insert carefully. For self-testing, not for in vitro diagnostic use. For external use only. Do not use the test after the expiry date printed on the package. Do not use the test if the foil pouch is torn or damaged. Single use only, discard after first use. The test device must remain in the sealed pouch until use. A contaminated sample may give false results. Keep out of reach of children.
Should be stored at 2-30°C in its original packaging.
