Product Description

Excipients

Glucose, Purified water, Methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, Ethyl p-hydroxybenzoate, Ethyl alcohol, Polyethylene glycol 300.

Therapeutic indications

Topical treatment of rhinitis and sinusitis of bacterial origin.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components or closely related substances from a chemical point of view, severe heart disease and arterial hypertension, glaucoma, hyperthyroidism. Do not administer during or within two weeks of treatment with Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs). Use of the product in children is not recommended. The drug is contraindicated in children under 12 years of age.

Dosage

3-6 drops per nostril, 3-4 times a day. Strictly adhere to the recommended dose. A higher dosage of the product, even if taken topically and for a short period of time, may result in serious systemic effects. A slight sediment does not alter the action of the preparation. Simply shake before use.

Warnings and Precautions

To be used only for nasal instillations, excluding use in the case of deep surgical procedures. In patients with cardiovascular disease, especially hypertensive patients, the use of nasal decongestants should be subject to the doctor's judgment on a case-by-case basis. Prolonged use of vasoconstrictors can alter the normal function of the nasal and paranasal sinus mucosa, possibly leading to drug addiction. Repeated applications for extended periods may be harmful. Use the preparation with caution, due to the risk of urinary retention, in the elderly and in those with prostatic hypertrophy. Use of topical products, especially if prolonged, may result in sensitization; in this case, it is necessary to discontinue treatment and, if necessary, institute appropriate therapy. However, if a complete therapeutic response is not achieved within a few days, consult your doctor; in any case, treatment should not be continued for more than a week. Strictly adhere to the recommended dose. Caution: Before use, read the package leaflet carefully. Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. Do not dispose of the bottle in the environment after use.

Side effects

The product may cause local rebound phenomena, sensitization, and mucosal congestion. Rapid absorption of Naphazoline through inflamed mucosa may cause systemic effects such as arterial hypertension, reflex bradycardia, headache, and urination disorders.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

In pregnant women, the product should be administered only when strictly necessary and under the direct supervision of a doctor. Use with caution in the first months of pregnancy.
