Remogen Omega is a hypotonic microemulsion of lubricating eye drops that soothes, refreshes, nourishes, hydrates, and protects the ocular surface in cases of dryness, burning, and discomfort, acting on the three layers of the tear film.
Indications
Remogen Omega soothes, refreshes, lubricates, nourishes, hydrates, and protects the ocular surface in all cases of qualitative and quantitative alterations and instability of the tear film that cause sensations of dryness, burning, and ocular discomfort. In particular, the product can be used in combination with other eye drops. It can be used in case of symptoms and signs of dry eye and/or superficial ocular lesions due to certain diseases such as superficial keratitis, Sjögren's syndrome, or primary dry eye syndrome. For the lubrication of the eyes in case of sensation of dryness, burning, and eye fatigue, and other minor discomforts without pathological significance induced, for example, by dust, smoke, dry heat, air conditioning, wind, cold, prolonged use of computer screens, immune system diseases, or the ingestion of drugs that reduce tear production. Thanks to its protective action on the corneal and conjunctival epithelia, Remogen Omega can be used in all cases of ocular irritation.
Remogen Omega is a hypotonic microemulsion composed of a micrometric dispersion of lipid molecules (fatty acids and vitamin E, which are also physiological constituents of tears) in an aqueous medium containing hydrating and emollient substances such as glycerol, polyacrylic acid, and cross-linked acrylate/alkyl acrylate polymer.
Remogen Omega acts on the three layers of the tear film. In particular, the lipid component of the microemulsion integrates with and regenerates the thin lipid layer of the natural tear film, physiologically reconstituting it and counteracting excessive evaporation from the aqueous layer. The aqueous component of Remogen® Omega forms a hydrophilic film that adheres to the ocular surface, retains water, and stabilizes the tear film, thus protecting the corneal and conjunctival epithelia.
Remogen Omega, a hypotonic microemulsion, also compensates for hyperosmolarity of the tear film, frequently associated with a non-physiological condition of the ocular surface. Remogen Omega is Free from surfactants and preservatives, substances that may damage the ocular surface.
Composition
1 ml of solution contains eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) ethyl ester, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) ethyl ester, alpha-tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), glycerol, polyacrylic acid, cross-linked acrylate/alkyl acrylate polymer, sodium hydroxide, disodium phosphate, and water for injections. The microemulsion is hypotonic, with a physiological pH.
Directions for use
Twist and remove the cap. Tilt your head back and position the tip of the container over the eye to be treated. Move the lower eyelid downwards with your index finger. Squeeze the container and a drop of Remogen Omega will easily be dispensed. Unless otherwise recommended, instill 1 or 2 drops of Remogen Omega into the eye as needed.
When blinking, the solution will spread and form a clear, long-lasting coating on the surface of the eye. Remogen Omega can also be used with contact lenses (rigid or soft).
Interactions
Do not use Remogen Omega simultaneously with other medications or products applied to the eye, as it may alter their effects. Wait at least 15 minutes between instilling two different products into the eye.
Warnings
Do not touch the tip of the open container or the surface of the eye with the tip of the open container. Discard any unused solution immediately after opening. Otherwise, sterility is no longer guaranteed and this may be associated with a risk of infection. Do not use Remogen Omega if the foil wrapper or containers are damaged. If discomfort persists while using Remogen Omega, consult a doctor. Keep out of reach of children.
Storage
Store at temperatures between 2°C and 8°C. Do not use Remogen Omega after the expiry date indicated on the container and the folding carton. This period refers to the product stored in the refrigerator (2°C-8°C). Outside the refrigerator, the product has a shelf life of 3 months if stored below 25°C and in its original packaging. Keep the product away from light, storing the single-dose containers in the aluminum container.
