Pumilflu Influenza e Raffreddore is a medicine for adults and adolescents over 15 years of age, containing paracetamol, ascorbic acid, and chlorphenamine maleate, used to relieve the symptoms of flu and colds.
Indications
Pumilflu Influenza e Raffreddore is used in adults and adolescents aged 15 years and over. over 15 years of age for the treatment of flu and cold symptoms.
Pumilflu Influenza e Freddore contains 3 active ingredients that have different effects:
- paracetamol, which relieves pain and reduces fever;
- chlorphenamine, which reduces nasal congestion, relieves symptoms of a runny nose and watery eyes;
- ascorbic acid (vitamin C) compensates for the increased need for this vitamin in acute viral infections.
Consult your doctor if fever or pain persists for more than 3 days, or if the symptoms do not improve after 3 days of treatment.
Contraindications
Do not take Pumilflu Cold and Flu:
- if you are allergic to the active substances (paracetamol, chlorphenamine maleate, or ascorbic acid) or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);allergic to other similar medicines (for example,
antihistamines - medicines used to treat
allergies);if you are pregnant or breastfeeding (see section Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility);if you have
glaucoma (high pressure in the eye);if you have
prostatic hypertrophy (enlargement of the prostate), if you have
obstruction (narrowing) of the bladder neck, if you have
pyloric or duodenal stenosis (narrowing of the stomach or duodenum), or any other
narrowing of the digestive or urogenital system;if you are or have have been treated with
monoamine oxidase inhibitors in the previous two weeks (see section 'Other medicines and Pumilflu Influenza e Freddore').
Do not give Pumilflu Influenza e Freddore to children under 15 years of age.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The frequency of the following side effects cannot be estimated from the available data.
Stop using Pumilflu Influenza e Freddore immediately and contact your doctor or the nearest hospital. You should go to a nearby hospital where you will receive appropriate and specific treatment if you experience any of the following symptoms:
- serious skin reactions manifesting as a skin rash, some of which are fatal (including Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis);
- allergic reactions such as:
- angioedema (sudden swelling of the skin or mucous membranes);
- laryngeal edema (swelling of the voice box);
- anaphylactic shock (severe allergic reaction).
Side effects affecting Blood disorders:
- thrombocytopenia (reduction in the number of platelets in the blood);
- leukopenia (reduction in the number of white blood cells in the blood);
- anemia (reduction in the amount of hemoglobin and red blood cells);
- agranulocytosis (reduction in the number of granulocytes in the blood);
- pancytopenia (reduction in the number of all cells in the blood).
Nervous system disorders such as:
- drowsiness;
- asthenia (weakness);
- dizziness (dizziness);
- headache;
- disturbance in attention.
Skin reactions of various types and severity have been reported with the use of paracetamol. which include cases of:
- urticaria (appearance of red spots on the skin);
- erythema multiforme (inflammation of the skin);
- photosensitivity (allergic skin reaction following exposure to light).
Other side effects may include:
- blurred vision;
- increased viscosity of bronchial secretions (thicker mucus);
- gastrointestinal disturbances such as dry mouth and nausea;
- alterations in lung function liver disease and hepatitis (liver inflammation);
- kidney changes: acute renal failure (reduced kidney function), interstitial nephritis (inflammation of the kidneys), hematuria (blood in the urine), anuria (absence of urine), urinary retention (urine in the bladder);
serious condition that can make the blood thicker; acid (called metabolic acidosis), in patients with a serious illness who use paracetamol (see section 2).Reporting of side effects
