Product Description

Medicines for topical use for joint and muscle pain.

Active Ingredients

100 g of cream contain 1 g of piroxicam.

Excipients

Polyethylene glycol 1000 monocetyl ether, propylene glycol, cetostearyl alcohol, phenylethyl alcohol, hypoallergenic perfume, polyglycolic esters of fatty acids, purified water.

Indications

Painful conditions of a rheumatic, inflammatory or traumatic nature of the joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments (arthritis, periarthritis, arthrosis in various localizations in the acute phase, synovitis, tendinitis, tenosynovitis, bursitis, bruises, sprains, strains, after-effects of dislocations, myalgia, brachialgia, lumbago, stiff neck).

Contraindication and Side Effects

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Piroxicam is contraindicated in case of confirmed or suspected pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Dosage

Spread 2-3 cm of cream on the painful area, massaging slowly until completely absorbed, repeating the administration 2-3 or more times a day.

Storage

This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.

Warnings

This medicine contains propylene glycol which can cause skin irritation and cetostearyl alcohol which can cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis).

Interactions

Based on bioavailability studies, it is extremely unlikely that piroxicam cream will displace other drugs bound to plasma proteins. However, physicians should monitor patients treated with the cream and highly protein-bound drugs for possible dosage adjustments.

Side Effects

Use of the product, especially if prolonged, may give rise to sensitization or local irritation. In this case, treatment should be discontinued and appropriate therapy instituted. Report any suspected adverse reactions via the national reporting system.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Piroxicam is contraindicated in case of confirmed or suspected pregnancy and breastfeeding.
