Indications

The Epitact orthosis immobilizes the thumb in a resting position by opening the commissure between the index finger and thumb. The alignment of the bones limits the forces exerted on the trapeziometacarpal joint and relieves pain. Thanks to the anatomical reinforcements that allow it to adapt perfectly to the morphology of the hand, the rigid rest orthosis offers optimal comfort.

61% fabric (polyamide, elastane, polyurethane), 39% elastomeric thermoplastic.

How to use and Dosage

During the night or in all situations in which the hand is not used, regularly wearing the rest orthosis helps to relieve joint pain at the base of the thumb and helps limit the progression of rhizarthrosis.

Maintenance

Hand wash at 30°C with a mild soap, without detergents or bleach. Rinse thoroughly. Dry by pressing. Do not dry near direct heat sources (radiators, sunlight). Do not use stain removers.

Warnings

In case of severe edema: monitor your hand during use. Remove the device if it is too tight and impedes circulation. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Do not apply creams or ointments before wearing the orthosis. Do not use near flames or incandescent materials.

Contraindications

Do not use on skin lesions.
