The Flocare Polyurethane Nasogastric Tube is a CE Class IIB medical device for long-term enteral nutrition, equipped with an ENFit connector and a lubricated stylet.

Indications

CE Class IIB Medical Device (Directive 93/42/EEC).

Long-term enteral nutrition for tubes. The polyurethane (PUR) nasogastric tube for enteral nutrition is equipped with a lubricated stylet. The device is equipped with a ENFit male connector specifically for enteral nutrition that allows it to be connected to the ENFit female terminal connector of enteral nutrition sets and syringes in order to avoid improper connections (ISO 80369-3).

Flocare nasogastric tubes are characterized by:

• ENFit male connector with closing cap, compatible with ENFit type syringes and incompatible with other connections (e.g. Luer lock) to ensure greater patient safety and avoid improper connections;
• three radiopaque lines that allow you to evaluate the correct positioning of the probe;
• two different graduated notches, blue in color, with intervals of 2 cm and 1 cm;
• end Distal tube with two lateral holes and one apical hole;
• stylet (=metal guide wire) coated in silicone to facilitate positioning and reinsertion into the tube in order to remove any sediment that could cause obstruction of the tube itself.

The device is free of latex and phthalates.

The product is sterilized by ethylene oxide.

Active ingredients

Nasogastric tube: Polyurethane (PUR); polyurethane is a synthetic material with good compatibility and excellent resistance.

Stylet: silicone-coated stainless steel.

Method Instructions for use and dosage

Polyurethane/silicone tubes should be lubricated only with water or water-soluble gels. The tubes should be washed before and after administering meals and medications, at least 3 times a day.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place.

Shelf life in unopened packaging: 60 months.
