Composition:

Niaouli essence New.Fa.Dem. 1%children nasal drops, solution– 100 g of solution contains Active ingredient: niaouli essence (gomenolate oil) 1 g.

Niaouli essence New.Fa.Dem. 2%adults nasal drops, solution– 100 g of solution contains Active ingredient: niaouli essence (gomenolate oil) 2 g. Niaouli essence is obtained from the leaves of Melaleuca viridiflora and contains not less than 50% 1,8-cineole. For the full list of excipients, see section 6.1.

Excipients

Vegetable oil.

Therapeutic indications

The medicinal product is indicated as a balsamic, expectorant, anticatarrhal and antiseptic in inflammation of the upper airways, particularly in congestive states of the nasal mucosa.

Contraindications

– Hypersensitivity to the active substance (niaouli) or to any of the excipients, – Severe liver disease, – Inflammation of the biliary and gastrointestinal tract, – Infants and children under 2 years of age.

Dosage

Adults and adolescents (13–18 years) Apply 2–3 drops of niaouli essence 2% adult solution per nostril several times a day.Children aged 2–12 years Apply 2–3 drops of niaouli essence 1% child solution per nostril several times a day.

Warnings and precautions

The application of niaouli essence solution may cause laryngospasm. Important information about some of the excipients: none in particular.

Interactions

Cineole, the main component of the topical solution of niaouli essence, induces the hepatic enzyme system and, therefore, may reduce the effectiveness of drugs inactivated by these enzymes.

Undesirable effects

The following are the undesirable effects of niaouli essence organized according to the MedDRA system organ classification. There are insufficient data to establish the frequency of the individual effects listed. Respiratory, thoracic and mediastinal disorders Laryngospasm

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

There are no clinical data available on the use of Niaouli essence during pregnancy. Therefore, caution should be exercised when prescribing the medicine to pregnant and breastfeeding women.
