Product Description

Drug for disinfecting the nasal mucosa.

Indications

Neo Emocicatrol is an ointment based on two active ingredients, benzalkonium chloride, a broad-spectrum bactericide, and tannic acid, with astringent properties.

Composition

1 g of ointment contains: benzalkonium chloride 1 mg and tannic acid 20 mg.

Excipients

Polyethylene glycol 400, polyethylene glycol 4000.

Directions for use and Dosage

Apply 2-5 cm of ointment per nostril 2-3 times a day using a small cotton swab or gauze. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Method of administration. Nasal use.

Warnings

The medicine is for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes and middle ear. Do not use for prolonged treatments. After a short period of treatment without appreciable results, reevaluate the therapy. The use of topical medications, especially prolonged, may give rise to sensitization phenomena; in this case, discontinue treatment and institute appropriate therapy. Ingestion or inhalation of some disinfectants can have serious, sometimes fatal, consequences. In case of accidental ingestion of the product, institute appropriate treatment.

Avoid the simultaneous use of other antiseptics and detergents.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active ingredients, to other antiseptics such as benzethonium chloride, cetyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride, cetylpyridinium chloride, methylbenzethonium chloride or to any of the excipients.

Side effects

Cases of hypersensitivity (burning or irritation) may occur; these effects are usually transitory and do not require modification of treatment. Report any suspected adverse reactions via the national reporting system.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

It should be used only if clearly needed.
