Treatment of itching and eye irritation.
Indications
Naphthazoline hydrochloride is useful for congestive conjunctivitis, burning, itching, and eye irritation.
Composition
Active ingredients
Naphthazoline hydrochloride 0.100 g.
Excipients
Sodium chloride; p-hydroxybenzoic esters; benzalkonium chloride; purified water.
Directions for use and Dosage
Instill one or two drops, two to three times a day, into the lower conjunctival fornix. Strictly follow the recommended dose. A higher dosage of the product, even when taken topically and for a short period of time, can cause serious systemic effects.
Warnings
Do not exceed the recommended dose. The product should not be used for more than four consecutive days; otherwise, adverse effects may occur. After a short period of treatment, if eye irritation persists or increases, it is advisable to discontinue use of the medicine and consult a doctor. Keep this medicine out of the reach and sight of children. Although the product has poor systemic absorption, it should be used with caution in patients with hypertension, hyperthyroidism, cardiac disorders, and diabetes.
Interactions
The product should be used with caution in patients being treated with antidepressants.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
There are no known contraindications.
Storage
Store below 25°C. The product should not be used for more than 30 days after first opening the container.
