Product Description

Decongestant solution useful for clearing the nose in case of colds or other stuffy nose conditions, such as sinusitis and allergic rhinitis.

Therapeutic indications

Decongestant in nasal, paranasal and nasopharyngeal inflammatory processes.

Composition

100 ml of nebulized solution and 100 ml of drops contain:

• Active ingredient: Naphazoline hydrochloride 0.200 g.
• Excipients: p-hydroxybenzoic esters, purified water.

Dosage

• Drops solution: three-four drops for endonasal instillations, two or three times a day. For nasal and pharyngeal aerosol: dilute one part of the solution in two parts of distilled water;
• Nebulized solution: three intranasal nebulizations, two or three times a day.

Strictly follow the recommended doses. A higher dosage of the product, even if taken topically and for a short period of time, can cause serious systemic effects.

Warnings

The product, if accidentally ingested, can cause toxicity. Keep out of the reach and sight of children. In patients with cardiovascular disease, and especially in hypertensive patients, the use of nasal decongestants should be subject to the doctor's judgment. Prolonged use of vasoconstrictors may cause serious systemic effects. alter the normal function of the nasal mucosa and paranasal sinuses, also leading to drug addiction.
Repeated applications for extended periods of time may be harmful. Therefore, if favorable results are not seen within a few days of starting treatment, discontinue use of the preparation and consult your doctor.
Rebound congestion is common with the use of nasal decongestants and can lead, in a vicious circle, to excessive use of the product: therefore, carefully adhere to the recommended doses.
Cases of overdose are more frequent and more serious in children. Particular caution should be exercised in children, the elderly, and women in the first months of pregnancy.
Children and sensitive individuals should be given the preparation at a concentration of 0.50 per thousand, that is, adding three parts water to one part Brunizine.

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any of the product's components. Chronic rhinitis. Severe heart disease and arterial hypertension. Hyperthyroidism. Glaucoma. Prostatic hypertrophy. The drug is contraindicated in children under 12 years of age. Do not administer during or within two weeks of therapy with monoamine oxidase inhibitors. Do not take orally. Do not use for more than 1 month. of four consecutive days.

Side effects

The product may cause local intolerance or rebound mucosal congestion. For high-dose treatments or for prolonged therapies exceeding four days, the absorption of naphazoline through the inflamed mucosa may cause systemic effects consisting of arterial hypertension, reflex bradycardia, headache, and urination disorders. In case of overdose, such as accidental oral administration, hypertension, tachycardia, chest tightness, severe headache, and, in children, hypothermia, central nervous system depression with marked sedation may occur. These symptoms require the application of appropriate emergency measures.

Overdose

Do not exceed the indicated doses to avoid side effects such as bradycardia, drowsiness, and damage to the nasal mucosa.
Particular caution should be exercised during the first months of pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
