Eye drops for vernal conjunctivitis.
Indications
Naaxia Eye Drops useful for acute and chronic allergic conjunctivitis and keratoconjunctivitis. Vernal conjunctivitis.
Composition
Active ingredients: 1 ml of eye drops, solution contains: Active ingredient: N-acetylaspartyl-glutamic acid (sodium salt) 49 mg (or spaglumic acid). For the full list of excipients, see section 6.1.
Excipients: Hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide to taste at pH 7.2; water for injections to taste. to 1 ml.
Directions for use and Dosage
Adults and children: Instill one drop of Naaxia eye drops solution into the conjunctival sac of each eye, pulling the lower eyelid slightly downward and looking up, 4 times a day. In seasonal forms, in order to achieve a good therapeutic outcome, it is recommended to start therapy a few days before the onset of symptoms and continue treatment for the entire period established by the doctor, even in the absence of symptoms. For single use only. Method of administration The patient must be instructed to:
- Wash hands thoroughly before and after instillation
- Avoid touching the eye or eyelids with the tip of the container
- Use the eye drop solution immediately after first opening the single-dose container and throw away the single-dose after use.
Warnings
Repeated use of the product may give rise to hypersensitivity phenomena. After the first opening of the vial, the residual product must not be reused. FOR USE ONLY ONCE. Keep out of reach of children.
Interactions
At present, no particular interactions or incompatibilities with other drugs are known. If used simultaneously with other eye drops, wait 15 minutes between instillations.
Undesirable effects
Naaxia eye drops solution may occasionally give rise to hypersensitivity phenomena. Transient burning or stinging sensation may occur after instillation.
Overdose
Overdose by ocular instillation is unlikely because any excess solution would be rapidly expelled from the conjunctival sac. There is no risk of side effects due to accidental oral ingestion of Naaxia eye drops solution, as even the contents of an entire pack (0.4 ml x 30) contain a quantity of active ingredient well below the doses capable of producing toxic effects.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Studies conducted on animals have not shown any toxic effects of spaglumic acid, sodium salt, during pregnancy or on the fetus. As with all medicines, during the first trimester of pregnancy, as well as during breastfeeding, it is advisable to limit its use to cases of real need and under the direct supervision of a doctor.
