Miconazole-based cream. Ideal for the treatment of mycoses with superinfections caused by these microorganisms.
Indications
Micotef Cutaneous Cream 2% is indicated for the treatment of skin and nail infections caused by dermatophytes and Candida.

Lecithin, cholesterol, propylene glycol, butylhydroxytoluene, methylp-hydroxybenzoate, propyl p-hydroxybenzoate, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, sodium edetate, citric acid monohydrate, hypromellose, purified water.
Directions for use and Dosage
- Skin Infections: Apply 1 cm of cream to the lesion (or more depending on the extent of the lesion) 1–2 times a day, then spread with your fingers.
- Nail Infections: Cut infected nails as short as possible. Apply a small amount of cream to the infected nail 1–2 times a day, then spread with your fingers. Cover the nail with a non-perforated occlusive dressing. Continue the treatment uninterruptedly, even after the infected nail has fallen off (usually after 2-3 weeks), until it has completely regrowth and the lesions have definitively healed (usually after 2 months or more)
Warnings
- Avoid contact with eyes
- Wash your hands carefully after each application, unless the treatment involves the same hands
- Keep towels and underwear for personal use in order to avoid infecting other people
- Regularly change clothes that come into contact with the infected area to avoid reinfection

Known individual hypersensitivity to Minoxidil or components of the preparation
Undesirable effects
It is possible following topical use that Occasionally, local sensitization or irritation may occur, requiring treatment to be discontinued. Use of the product, especially if prolonged, may give rise to sensitization phenomena. In this case, treatment should be discontinued and appropriate therapy instituted. Reporting suspected adverse reactions that occur after authorization of the medicinal product is important, as it allows continuous monitoring of the benefit/risk balance of the medicinal product.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
The medicinal product, applied topically, is minimally absorbed into the systemic circulation. However, although there is no evidence of embryotoxicity or teratogenicity in animals, the potential risks of prescribing the drug during pregnancy must be weighed against the potential therapeutic benefits. Miconazole, applied topically, is minimally absorbed into the systemic circulation, and it is not known whether miconazole is excreted in human milk. Caution is advised when using topical products containing miconazole during breastfeeding.
