Product Description

Composition:

100 ml of vaginal solution contain: Active ingredient: miconazole 0.200 g. Excipients: propylene glycol.

Excipients

Propylene glycol, lactic acid, undebenzophene, ricinoleyl alcohol, polysorbate 20, perfume composition, purified water.

Therapeutic indications

Adjuvant in the treatment of vulvovaginal Candida infections, even if superinfected by Gram-positive germs: it can be used as an adjuvant in the treatment of vulvovaginal Candida infections. It can also be used after other topical or oral therapy, in order to reduce the risk of relapses.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any of the excipients.

Dosage

In the morning, apply the solution to the vagina using the entire bottle. Daily applications may be extended, at the doctor's discretion, beyond the normal 5-6 days of therapy.

Warnings and precautions

Perform the following operations: 1) hold the bottle by the knurled ring and rotate the cap until the safety seal breaks and tighten it until it touches the head of the cannula underneath, 2) remove the cannula, always holding it through the cap, until it stops, continue pulling the head until you hear a click of the correct positioning, N.B. Only the complete sliding of the cannula head allows the solution to flow correctly. 3) Insert the cannula gently into the vagina and press the walls of the bottle with more or less intense pressure, so as to completely empty it. A special valve prevents the solution from returning to the bottle. Irrigation should preferably be performed in a lying position. Slow irrigation promotes better medicated cleansing. Micotef 0.2% vaginal solution is easy to apply and does not stain the skin or clothing. Keep out of the reach of children. This medicine contains propylene glycol among the excipients and therefore may cause skin irritation.

Interactions

None confirmed.

Side effects

Treatment with miconazole is well tolerated. Rarely, miconazole may cause vaginal burning or irritation, pelvic cramps, more severe itching. Rarely, skin rashes and headaches may also occur. In these cases, treatment should be discontinued and appropriate therapy initiated.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

During the first trimester of pregnancy, the product should be used only if strictly necessary and under direct medical supervision.
