Vaginal mycosis caused by Candida.
Contraindications
Already known hypersensitivity or allergy to the preparation.
Dosage
MICOMICEN vaginal cream: Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, apply MICOMICEN 1% vaginal cream in the evening before going to bed, following the instructions below: screw one of the disposable applicators onto the tube of MICOMICEN 1% vaginal cream and fill it by pressing on the tube, unscrew the applicator filled with cream from the tube and insert it deeply into the vagina, after lying down, maintaining the supine position, press the plunger of the applicator to introduce the medicine into the vagina. The applicator should not be reused but should be discarded after use. To facilitate healing and prevent reinfection, it is advisable to also apply the vaginal cream to the skin of the external genitalia up to the anal region. Treatment should be continued for at least 6-7 days until symptoms disappear. However, to avoid relapses, it is advisable to continue treatment for an additional week. MICOMICEN 100 mg suppositories: Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, one suppository should be taken in the evening before bedtime. Treatment with 100 mg suppositories should last at least 3 days. In the event of a recurrence or if, with the use of suppositories, the culture test performed after the first 3 days of treatment is still positive, a second cycle of therapy should be repeated, up to a maximum of 6 days. MICOMICEN suppositories should be inserted as deeply as possible into the vagina, maintaining a supine position. Treatment should not be administered during menstruation. MICOMICEN ovules are colorless and do not soil underwear.
Warnings and precautions
In vaginal mycosis, reinfection by the partner is possible (ping-pong effect). It is therefore advisable to simultaneously treat the partner with MICOMICEN 1% cream. It is also recommended to abstain from sexual intercourse for the entire duration of therapy. Repeated use of the product may give rise to sensitization phenomena. In this case, discontinue treatment and initiate appropriate therapy.
Interactions
Not reported in the literature or detected in clinical practice.
Side effects
Rarely, it may occur. A slight burning sensation may occur in the first few days of treatment. Any signs of sensitization should require suspension of treatment and the adoption of appropriate therapeutic measures.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
In pregnant women, the product should be used only in case of actual need and under the direct supervision of a doctor.
