Skin Solution

Composition:

Active ingredient: 100 ml of solution contain: Ciclopirox olamine 1 g.

Excipients

Macrogol 400, isopropyl alcohol, purified water.

Therapeutic indications

Skin mycoses caused by sensitive fungi.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to ciclopirox olamine or to any of the excipients. The powder should not be applied to open wounds.

Dosage

The different preparations allow the doctor to choose the most suitable one for each individual case, at his/her discretion. Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dosage is as follows: apply 2–3 times a day, rubbing in lightly, and repeat the treatment until the skin lesions disappear (usually 2 weeks). To avoid recurrences, it is recommended to continue for another 1–2 weeks.

Warnings and precautions

The product should not come into contact with the eyes. Ciclopirox olamine should be used with caution and under the direct supervision of a doctor: in case of concomitant systemic antifungal treatment, in subjects with a history of immunosuppression, in patients with a compromised immune system, such as transplant recipients and those with HIV infection, in diabetics. The use, especially if prolonged, of topical products can cause sensitization phenomena. In this case, treatment must be discontinued and appropriate therapeutic measures taken. During treatment, the hygiene measures recommended by the doctor must be strictly observed.

Undesirable effects

The undesirable effects observed during clinical studies are listed below by System Organ Class and frequency. Frequency is defined as: common (> 1/100, < 1/10), uncommon (> 1/1000, < 1/100), not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data).Immune system disorders. Uncommon: hypersensitivity reactions, requiring discontinuation of treatment.General disorders and administration site conditions. Common: transient exacerbation of local symptoms in the application area, such as burning sensation, erythema and itching, which do not require discontinuation of treatment. Uncommon: vesicles at the application site, requiring discontinuation of treatment.Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders. Frequency not known: eczema-like and contact dermatitis-like reactions have been reported during marketing. Although these reactions are rare, they are not known. No systemic effects have been reported, this possibility must be taken into consideration in patients undergoing prolonged treatment on large surfaces, on damaged skin, on mucosa or under occlusive dressings.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

As with any other medical therapy, in women who are pregnant, breastfeeding and in early childhood, the product must be used only in case of real need and under the direct supervision of a doctor.
