Features

CE medical device useful for determining blood glucose. A blood glucose test can be performed using samples taken from the fingertips, the palms of the hands (at the base of the thumb), and the forearms. To perform a test with the BGStar™ system, a small blood sample of 0.5 µL is sufficient.

How to use 

Applying the blood sample: bring the test strip into contact with the blood sample: the meter displays the drop symbol. This symbol indicates that the BGStar™ system is ready for application of the blood sample.

Immediately bring the BGStar™ test strip into contact with the blood sample. The test strip fills from the tip. Do not apply blood to the top side of the test strip.

The test strip acts like a sponge and absorbs the blood into the strip through the sampling area. The BGStar™ test strip visual indicator will turn red.

Remove the test strip from the blood sample as soon as the meter beeps. Do not press the test strip against the sampling area. Do not scrape blood onto the test strip. Do not apply blood to the top side of the test strip.

Do not apply blood to the test strip when the test strip is not inserted into the meter. Do not insert blood or foreign objects into the BGStar™ strip insertion port. This could damage the system.

Stop applying blood when the unit beeps. Read the test results displayed on the display carefully before making a treatment decision.

Warnings

Do not use if the safety seal on the package is tampered with. Dispose of used test strips properly. Use test strips only once.

Use only BGStar™ test strips with the BGStar™ or iBGStar™ system. After removing the test strip from the vial, immediately close the vial cap tightly.

Handle test strips gently with clean, dry hands when removing them from the vial or inserting them into the meter. Do not use test strips beyond the expiration date or 90 days after first opening the vial, otherwise inaccurate results may occur. Write the expiration date (90 days from first opening) on ​​the test strip bottle.

Do not bend, cut, or alter the test strips.

Storage

Store the test strip bottle in a cool, dry place between 8°C and 30°C. Use the test strips only at a system operating temperature between 10°C and 40°C. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat.

Store the test strips only in their original bottle; under no circumstances should they be stored in another bottle, another container, or outside the bottle.
