Characteristics
Lumixa eye drops is the first photoactive tear supplement based on 3 components: crocin, cross-linked hyaluronic acid, and liposomes, with a synergistic action on the 3 layers of the tear film. Cross-linked sodium hyaluronate (CXL) is a reticular form of sodium hyaluronate designed to obtain a more viscoelastic and stable molecule. CXL hyaluronic acid ensures better hydration and longer permanence of the preparation on the ocular surface. Crocin is a photoactive, water-soluble carotenoid with high antioxidant activity that can limit the damage caused by free radicals produced in dry eye conditions, mechanical stress, environmental stress, and visual stress. Furthermore, several studies have shown that crocin can protect cells from damage caused by blue and white light. Liposomes help restore the outer lipid layer and stabilize the tear film by preventing excessive evaporation of the aqueous component. Thanks to the synergy between CXL hyaluronic acid, crocin, and liposomes, Lumixa® has high mucoadhesive properties and is indicated for all types of dry eye caused by hypolacrimia and/or dyslacrimia.
Indications
Symptomatic treatment of dry eye syndrome. Indicated for corneal protection as a tear substitute after surgery, ocular trauma, or in cases of environmental or visual stress.
Directions for use
Instill 1 or 2 drops in each eye 1 or more times a day or as directed by your doctor.
