Vaginal soft capsules for infections.
Characteristics
Medical device indicated for candidiasis of the genital mucosa (vulvovaginitis, colpitis, infectious fluoride). Lomexin T is also indicated for vaginal trichomoniasis and vaginal infections caused in mixed form by Trichomonas vaginalis and Candida albicans.
Ingredients
Each vaginal soft capsule contains 1000 mg of fenticonazole nitrate. Excipients with known effects: Each vaginal soft capsule contains 1.60 mg of sodium ethyl parahydroxybenzoate, 0.70 mg of sodium propyl parahydroxybenzoate.
Excipients
Liquid paraffin, White petrolatum, Soy lecithin. Shell constituents: Gelatin Glycerin Titanium dioxide Sodium ethyl parahydroxybenzoate Sodium propyl parahydroxybenzoate.
Directions for use
In vaginal infections caused by Trichomonas and mixed infections (Trichomonas + Candida), it is recommended to apply one 1000 mg vaginal soft capsule followed by a second application after 24 hours, if necessary. In infections caused by Candida: one 1000 mg vaginal soft capsule in the evening as a single dose. If symptoms persist, a second dose can be repeated after 3 days. The soft vaginal capsules should be inserted deeply into the vagina (up to the level of the fornices).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the product's components.
Warnings
Upon application to the lesion or intravaginal introduction, a mild burning sensation may occur, which disappears quickly. Use of topical products, especially if prolonged, may give rise to sensitization phenomena. In this case, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor to establish appropriate therapy.
Side effects
Lomexin is generally well tolerated, both on the skin and mucous membranes; only exceptionally have mild and transient erythematous reactions or a burning sensation been reported, which usually disappears quickly. In the event of hypersensitivity reactions or the development of resistant microorganisms, treatment should be discontinued. Lomexin is only poorly absorbed under the recommended conditions of use, so systemic effects can be ruled out.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Although percutaneous and vaginal absorption of fenticonazole is rather low, it is recommended not to use the preparation during pregnancy.
