Therapeutic indications

Candidiasis of the genital mucosa (vulvovaginitis, colpitis, infectious fluor). LOMEXIN T is also indicated for vaginal trichomoniasis and mixed vaginal infections caused by Trichomonas vaginalis and Candida albicans.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the product components.

Dosage

2% vaginal cream - insert the contents of the applicator (approximately 5 g) deeply into the vagina. Apply using the applicator (washable and reusable) before bedtime, if necessary also in the morning. To avoid reinfection, it is recommended to simultaneously treat the partner locally (glans and foreskin) with Lomexin cream. 0.2% vaginal solution - 1-2 times a day for 7 days as an adjuvant therapy to other formulations for the prevention of recurrences. Ovules 200 - One 200 mg ovule in the evening before bedtime, for three days, as directed by your doctor. Ovules 600 - One 600 mg ovule in the evening as a single dose. If symptoms persist, a second dose may be repeated after 3 days. Ovules 1000 - For vaginal infections caused by Trichomonas and mixed infections (Trichomonas + Candida), it is recommended to apply one 1000 mg ovule, followed by a second application after 24 hours, if necessary. For Candida infections: One 1000 mg ovule in the evening as a single dose. If symptoms persist, a second dose may be repeated after 3 days. The ovules should be inserted deeply into the vagina, up to the level of the fornices.

Warnings and precautions

When applied to the lesion or inserted intravaginally, a slight burning sensation may occur, which disappears quickly. Use of topical products, especially if prolonged, may give rise to sensitization phenomena. In this case, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor to establish appropriate therapy.

Interactions

None known.

Side effects

Lomexin is generally well tolerated, both on the skin and mucous membranes. Only exceptionally have mild and transient erythematous reactions or a burning sensation, which usually disappears quickly, been reported. In case of hypersensitivity reactions or the development of resistant microorganisms, treatment should be discontinued. Under the recommended conditions of use, Lomexin is only poorly absorbed, so systemic effects can be ruled out.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Although percutaneous and vaginal absorption of fenticonazole is rather low, it is recommended not to use the preparation during pregnancy.
