Features

The liver is an essential organ in the body that plays a critical role in health. It helps break down food, clean the blood, produce proteins, and store energy. If you have liver problems, a number of symptoms may occur, including dark urine or pale stools, an inability to eat, yellowish eyes or skin (jaundice), bloating, weakness, or a feeling of extreme tiredness. There could be many reasons for the onset of a liver problem, such as hepatitis, side effects of medications, cirrhosis due to drinking, or being overweight, especially if you have diabetes or high blood pressure. The most commonly used liver tests are the evaluation of transaminase enzymes (ALT and AST). These enzymes are released into the blood by the liver when it is damaged or diseased. LIVER-Screen® is a rapid immunodiagnostic test for the immunological detection of increased transaminase levels (both ALT and AST) from a fingerstick blood sample. The test consists of a plastic container and a dipstick with two distinct zones for the detection of transaminases (red when positive) and a control zone (blue).

Warnings

1. This test is intended for in vitro diagnostics only. For external use only. DO NOT INGEST.
2. Read the instructions carefully before performing the test. The test is interpretable only if the instructions are carefully followed. Strictly follow the indicated time, quantities of blood and diluent.
3. Store between +4°C and +30°C. Do not freeze.
4. Do not use after the expiration date printed on the label and the protective pouch, or if the pouch is damaged.
5. Do not reuse the LIVER-Screen® test.
6. Keep it out of the reach of children.
7. After use, all components can be thrown in the trash.

Format

The box contains all the materials needed to perform one test:

• 1 sealed aluminum pouch containing: 1 test device, 1 plastic pipette, 1 desiccant sachet. (Open the protective pouch only when you are about to use it. Do not use the desiccant sachet);
• 1 sterile needle for blood sampling;
• 1 dropper bottle containing 1 ml of diluent;
• 1 instruction leaflet.
