Product Description

Gel based on glycosaminoglycan polysulfate that acts as an anti-inflammatory and antithrombotic agent.

Indications

Hirudoid 40000 IU Gel is used as a treatment for thrombophlebitis and superficial phlebitis and venous stasis edema. Effective against pain, inflammation, edema, trophic disorders in post-phlebitic and varicose conditions and against hematomas.

Composition

The active ingredient is glycosaminoglycan polysulfate. 100 g of gel contain 445 mg (equivalent to
40,000 IU) of active ingredient.

The other ingredients are isopropanol, propylene glycol (E1520), sodium hydroxide, polyacrylic acid, purified water.

How to use and Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

The recommended dose is 3-5 cm of gel 2-3 times a day.

• Gently massage the treated area to help the gel absorb;
• Do not apply the gel to open wounds or mucous membranes;
• Do not swallow;
• The gel may cause irritation. be used during some physiotherapy techniques, which allow the medicine to penetrate the skin, such as iontophoresis (the gel is applied to the cathode) and ultrasound.

Warnings

External use; if sensitization phenomena appear, which can originate with prolonged use of products for skin application, treatment must be discontinued. Hirudoid 40000 IU gel and cream contain alcohol among the excipients and therefore should not be applied to open wounds or mucous membranes. Hirudoid 40000 IU gel contains propylene glycol which can cause skin irritation.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substance, to a heparinoid or to any of the excipients.
