Guaiacalcium Complex is a cough sedative
Dosage and method of use
Guaiacalcium Complex is administered according to the following doses
- Adults and children over 13 years: 1 tablespoon 2-3 times a day.
In the cold season it is advisable to administer the hot syrup as a medicinal punch, diluting the dose in very hot water, tea or milk. Do not exceed the recommended doses.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients listed
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- Children under 13 years of age
Special warnings
This medicine contains 6.3 vol. % ethanol, i.e. up to 0.76 g per dose, equivalent to 20 ml of beer, 7.9 ml of wine per dose. Particular caution should therefore be exercised when administering it to subjects with liver disease, alcoholism, epilepsy, trauma or brain disease, as well as to pregnant women.
Guaiacalcium Complex contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate. It can cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed). Guaiacalcium Complex contains sucrose. Patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency should not take this medicine.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
The medicine should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Expiry and storage
Check the expiry date on the package. The expiry date indicated on the package refers to the product in its intact packaging, stored correctly. Store at room temperature.
Warning: Do not use the medicine after the expiry date shown on the package.
Composition
Guaiacalcium Complex contains:
Active ingredient: Dropropizine 0.144 g, Potassium sulfoguaiacolate 2 g
Excipients: Aconite root fluid extract, cherry laurel (aromatic distilled water), grindelia fluid extract, tolu balsam fluid extract, ethanol 95%, natural caramel, aromatic extract, sucrose, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, purified water.
