Dermatological Cream

Active ingredients

100 g of cream contain: Active ingredients: benzyl alcohol 4 g benzocaine 5 g chloroxylenol 0.10 g. For the full list of excipients, see section 6.1.

Excipients

Hydrogenated vegetable oil, ceresin (solid paraffin), yellow beeswax, monodiglycerides (of higher fatty acids), corn oil, calcium hydrate, sodium borate, PEG 32, sodium lauryl sulfate, maleic anhydride, eugenol, sodium calcium EDTA, 8-hydroxyquinoline, purified water.

Therapeutic indications

Minor burns, sunburn, skin irritations caused by various chemical-physical agents, insect bites. In the treatment of grazes, abrasions and superficial wounds of the skin.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients. The product is not suitable for ophthalmic use.

Dosage

Apply the cream in a thin, even layer directly onto the lesion. In the case of small lesions, it is advisable to cover with sterile gauze after applying the cream. The dressing should not be removed for at least 48 hours, so as not to disrupt the granulation process. In certain cases, the initial dressing should not be removed or changed for a longer period of time, but it should be kept well moistened with FOILLE SCOTTATURE. It is recommended not to exceed the maximum limit of 4 applications per day, for both adults and children.

Warnings and precautions

FOILLE SCOTTATURE is for external use only. Use of the product, especially if prolonged, may give rise to sensitization phenomena. The efficacy and safety of benzocaine depend on proper dosage. Therefore, it is necessary to use the smallest amount of product necessary to achieve the desired effect, applying it with caution to individuals with severely damaged mucous membranes or inflammatory processes that could cause excessive absorption of this active ingredient. FOILLE SCOTTATURE should only be used on small, superficial skin lesions and for short periods of time. Do not apply near the eyes. In case of deep wounds, widespread insect bites, severe burns, or particularly extensive minor burns, always consult your doctor before using the product. If the condition for which this preparation is being used persists for a longer period of time, if irritation occurs, if redness, swelling, or pain persist, or if you have an infection, discontinue use and consult your doctor. Do not use the product in children under 6 months of age. It is recommended to administer it only after consulting a doctor between 6 months and 2 years of age.

Side effects

The use of products for topical application, especially if prolonged, may give rise to sensitization phenomena. In this case, discontinue treatment and initiate appropriate therapy. Rarely, high absorption of benzocaine can cause serious reactions (increase in methemoglobin, with the onset of cyanosis), particularly in children and the elderly, which require prompt hospitalization.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

There are no known contraindications to use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, it is advisable to consult your doctor before taking the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
