How to use

Turn the device on by pressing the ON/OFF button. All notification symbols appear briefly and the device beeps, followed by the last measured temperature value.

If the temperature is below 32°C (90°F), the message "Lo" will appear on the LCD display. If the temperature is above 42.9°C (109.9°F), the message "Hi" will appear. The thermometer is now ready for use.

You can measure body temperature in either Celsius or Fahrenheit. Proceed as follows:

1. The device must be switched off.
2. Press and hold the ON/OFF button for approximately 4 seconds to change the unit of measurement.
3. The set unit of measurement (°C or -%) appears in the top right corner of the display.

Place the sensor tip under the tongue, in the armpit, or in the anus:

• Oral Measurement: Place the thermometer with the sensor tip under the tongue and close your mouth. Breathe through your nose during the measurement and avoid distorting the readings.
• Rectal Measurement: Rectal measurement, which many patients find uncomfortable, provides precise results. For a quick and reliable measurement, carefully insert the sensor tip about 1 cm into the rectum.
• Axillary Measurement: Before taking the measurement, clean the armpit. Place the thermometer with the sensor tip in the armpit. Lower your arm and press it lightly against your body during the measurement.

The thermometer starts the measurement automatically. During measurement, the "°" symbol flashes continuously. Once the measurement is complete, the device beeps for approximately 10 seconds and the measured value appears on the display. Extending the measurement time beyond the beep will result in even more accurate readings. If using the thermometer under the armpit, wait at least 10 minutes, as this measurement method is the most inaccurate. If the temperature measured is above 37.8°C (100°F), the device emits a fever alarm (short beeps). The thermometer switches off automatically 10 minutes after measurement. To prolong battery life, however, we recommend turning the thermometer off after the reading by pressing the ON/OFF button.

Cleaning and maintenance

The thermometer is waterproof and can therefore be easily cleaned and disinfected. Clean the thermometer before and after each measurement with a cloth soaked in a mild alcohol solution. You can also immerse the thermometer in a suitable disinfectant solution.

Warnings

The thermometer must not be boiled. The thermometer must be cleaned before and after each use with disinfectant. Keep away from heat sources. Keep out of reach of children. The thermometer is only suitable for measuring body temperature. Protect the thermometer from falls and impacts. The thermometer goes into error mode after about 15 seconds if it does not detect a temperature or if the temperature is outside the measuring range.
