The use, especially if prolonged, of topical products may give rise to sensitization phenomena; if this occurs, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor to establish appropriate therapy. After a short period of treatment without appreciable results, consult your doctor. Avoid applying the product on very extensively abrasioned skin to avoid systemic absorption of the product; also do not apply it to areas of skin with blisters, open wounds, or exuding surfaces. Avoid contact of the preparation with eyes and prolonged exposure of the treated areas to the sun. In children under 2 years of age, do not use the preparation without medical advice. In infants and young children, in particular, the use of the preparation on large skin surfaces, especially on excoriated and inflamed areas, should be avoided. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.

Burning, dryness, and allergic skin reactions have been reported.
No case of overdose with Fenistil gel has been reported to date. However, accidental ingestion of significant quantities of Fenistil gel can cause serious health problems. Induce some symptoms characteristic of overdose with H1-type antihistamines: CNS depression with drowsiness (especially in adults), CNS stimulation and antimuscarinic effects (especially in children), including excitement, ataxia, hallucinations, tonic-clonic jerks, mydriasis, dry mouth, facial flushing, urinary retention, and fever. Hypotension may also occur. There is no specific antidote for antihistamine overdose. The usual emergency measures should be implemented, including in case of ingestion: activated charcoal, saline laxatives, and, if necessary, the usual cardiorespiratory support measures. Stimulants should not be administered; vasopressors may be used to treat hypotension.
In pregnant and breastfeeding women, the product should be used only if clearly needed and under the direct supervision of a physician. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, Fenistil gel should not be applied to large areas of skin, especially if it is damaged or inflamed. However, the product should not be applied to the nipples during breastfeeding.
