Decongestant and antiallergic drug
Indications
Eustamyl is indicated in cases of acute and chronic conjunctivitis and keratoconjunctivitis of an allergic nature (spring, atopic and others).
Composition
Active ingredients
100 ml contain: ketotifen fumarate 0.069 g, equivalent to 0.05 g of ketotifen.
Excipients
0.5 mg/ml eye drops, solution (in single-dose pack): hydroxyethylcellulose; sorbitol; water for injections.
Directions for use and Dosage
1 drop in the conjunctival sac 2 or more times a day, according to medical prescription.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to ketotifen or to any of the excipients.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Generally contraindicated in pregnancy.
- Pregnancy: There are no adequate data available on the use of eye drops during pregnancy. Animal studies with oral toxic doses have shown an increase in pre- and postnatal mortality, but have not shown teratogenic effects. Systemic levels of ketotifen after ophthalmic application are much lower than those achieved after oral administration. However, caution should be exercised when prescribing the medicine to pregnant women.
- Breastfeeding: Although data from animal studies after oral administration demonstrate excretion of the active ingredient in breast milk, topical administration to women is unlikely to produce detectable quantities of the active ingredient in breast milk. The eye drops medicine can be used during breastfeeding.
- Fertility: No data are available on the effect of ketotifen fumarate on fertility in humans.
