Ectoal Ectoin 2% Ophthalmic Solution

Indications

CE medical device, class I, sterile, containing 2% Ectoin, a natural cytoprotective molecule, which has anti-inflammatory properties and stabilizes cell membranes. It is an isotonic solution and can be used to treat and prevent the symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis. Itching, redness, or excessive tearing can be effectively relieved. It protects against the harmful effects of allergens and supports the repair processes of irritated and sensitized conjunctiva.

Directions for use

Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, apply 1-2 drops per eye, even several times a day. Children aged 10 years and under should be assisted by an adult when administering.

• 1. Remove the protective cap from the bottle, avoiding touching the tip of the dropper underneath.
• 2. Place your index and middle fingers on the circular plate at the top of the bottle and your thumb under the bottle.
• 3. Before using Ectoal for the first time, turn the bottle upside down and press the base with your thumb 2-3 times, until the first drops come out. Do not cut the tip of the dropper.
• 4. Tilt your head back and use your index finger to gently push your lower eyelid down and look up. Avoid direct contact of the dropper tip with your fingers, the surface of your eye, or any contact lenses.
• 5. Apply Ectoal to the conjunctival sac by pressing the bottle firmly once. Thanks to the patented pump mechanism, exactly one drop will be released.
• 6. Close your eye slowly to help distribute the solution over the entire ocular surface.
• 7. Repeat the procedure for the other eye.
• 8. After each use, dry the tip of the bottle and close with the protective cap.

 Warnings

It should not be used after eye surgery.
It should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to ectoin or any other ingredient of the ophthalmic solution.
If an allergic reaction occurs, use must be discontinued immediately.
To ensure hygiene, each bottle should be used by only one person.
It can be used with contact lenses. No interactions with contact lenses are known.
There are no known interactions between Ectoal and other eye drops or ointments for topical ocular use. Wait at least 15 minutes after using Ectoal before applying any other medical device or medication to the eye.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medical device if you suspect you are pregnant, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

Storage

Store between 2°C and 25°C.
Do not use for more than 6 weeks after first opening.
Keep out of reach of children.
